Let It Snow!!!

Those of us that live in the Midwest are battening down the hatches for what is possibly going to be a record setting snowfall.

Here in Michigan we are being warned that the snow will start Tuesday evening  and will continue through Wednesday. When all is said and done we are expecting possibly 20 inches!

We have been lucky thus far. All of the giant storms of the season have been centered on the East Coast. Looks like it is our turn now.

For those of us waiting for the supposed "Mother" of a storm to arrive....wrap up all cozy in a warm fuzzy blanket....grab something warm to drink and something tantalizingly tasty to snack on.....hold your kitties and your doggies close...

This is nature's way of telling us to slow down....sit back...stop for a moment and watch the magical snow dance from the sky....everything has beauty if we take the time to notice...

  4. I love the way cats always live in the moment, finding fun and interest in things we take for granted, that video is great, and I so want one of those hats for Posky! Stay safe and warm guys...

  8. Stay safe Caren and your family. We have a major cyclone hitting far north Queensland. In the same spot that Cyclone Larry hit five years ago and wiped out everything. This one is going to be even worse.

The earth throwing the biggest hissy-fit I think!

  9. I love the woolly hat pic and video! I've heard from a friend in Boston that they've got it pretty bad. Keep safe and warm x

  12. Chicago-area here, waiting on the same storm. Thanks so much - for reminding us to appreciate it for what it's worth (and take advantage of the snuggle time!) :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Take care over there!!! Stay in where it is safe and snuggle! We have had a big storm every week in January. In the city they are running out of room to put the snow. Out here in the woods at least it doesn't look as bad.

  14. Great video - so serene and makes me think snow might not be all bad. I can say that because I live in Florida. Your friend, Fisher

  15. Keep warm.... I love that hat. Very cute.

    pawhugs, Max

  16. Good luck with the snow.... Sounds like you have been sort of spared so far... I don't remember ever having as much snow as we have had this winter. It is ridiculous. We have had a blizzard every week since Christmas time... If I didn't go to Florida for a week, I think I would have forgotten what grass looks like... UGH!

  17. Oooh, the snow looks so pretty falling down. I hope you all stay warm and safe and cozy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. We hope you enjoy the snow! We're supposed to get the same storm, but we're a little more used to it here...It's still beautiful though!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Please do stay safe and off the roads! No job is worth risking life and limb for. Personally, the mom is hoping for a snow day tomorrow (fat chance). Here we're expecting up to 30 cms (a foot), so it's going to be pretty messy!

  20. You are so precious looking. And the music is perfect for you too. xoxoxo You and mommy stay safe, love.

  23. @Mrs Tuna, lol!

@We love Luna, I loved that video too thanks! Yeah...it's cold. Amazingly when you expect snow it is actually WARMER when it snows, sometimes it can be too cold to snow. Thanks much and we love you too! Caren and Cody

  24. @Admiral Hestorb, that is a beautiful cat but not mine! I loved the video too. Thanks so much, we love you!

@Kea I agree with you! I actually have been out of work since 2007 so thankfully that part isn't a worry. When I worked at the newspaper for 21 and a half years there were NEVER snow days. Newspapers, hospitals, etc don't close! I remember a half hour drive to working taking two and a half hours in bad storms. I pray you get a snow day. Be safe! xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  25. @The Monkeys, you be safe too!!!! You think we're not used to it? lol...we are in MICHIGAN!!!

@Daisy, I agree that it does look pretty falling down. I just loved that video. As long as the power stays on we will be ok! (((((hugs)))0

@Hilary OMG I KNOW! You guys have gotten it over and over again. We have had snow on the ground the entire season (only melted once) but we were getting 2 or 3 inches at a time while you guys were getting over a foot everytime you were getting it! Is this one heading your way AGAIN??

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Max we will. We loved the hat too, I think some of you think it is Cody and our hat but it isn't xoxo

@Fisher and Staff...great to "look at" isn't it? lol. Easy to say being in Florida is true! Kidding! I actually like it when it first falls and I actually love storms as long as I have power and I am not out in it! Thanks much for stopping by!

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Goldie Shade and Banshee I would LOVE to live in the woods like YOU! I have heard of cities running out of room for snow before YIKES! Thanks so much for stopping by!! You be safe! xoxo

@purplecat, we love that hat too! It isn't ours though...it isn't Cody but that cat is too cute!

@Princess Jasmine, yep that hat sure would keep me warm if it was my hat!! lol. Sadly, it isn't so I guess I have to be cold! Love, Cody

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Mr.Puddy MOL!! Yep we have "Dakota-food!!!" Lots and lots of "Dakota-food" and lots and lots of "Cody food" You know what is gonna be funny Puddy? If we get as much snow as they say we are it is going to be HIGHER than Dakota!!!! I am gonna have a good time watching out the window at him trying to go to the bathroom....this oughta be really, really funny!!! Love your pal Cody and my Mom who just loves you and your Mom to pieces! xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Barbara I think you summed it up perfectly. Cats have an amazing way of living in the moment and finding wonder in the moment...purrfect! xoxoxo

@Mumsy, we sure wish that was our hat but sadly it isn't, that kitty isn't me! We like the hat too though! Thanks so much for stopping by!

@Mason my Mom just loved that video as well...she loved how soothing the music was and how the kitty is captivated by the snow falling. Thanks for stopping by! xoxo

@Tucker, that kitty isn't Cody! lol. That is why it is wearing the hat! Cody would never do that! xoxoxo

@Ruth...sooo happy to make you smile! I hope you are ok!!!!!!! ((((((((hugs)))))))

  30. Yikes - 20 inches is a lot. Our hearts go out to you. We had 6 yesterday and evening, now 6 more are predicted. We're certainly not complaining because we are getting off easy M says. Stay safe friends. Love the video.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Here's hoping you don't have to go out into that snow storm - it sounds as though you are going to be able to make many snow men!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. If I had that had I would be happy to shovel...I think I am going to have to hat or no hat.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Hannah and Lucy, the most we might go out is to see what it is like (if it isn't howling wind and all) It is supposed to start around 6 or 7 tonight and continue through 7pm Wed....I actually kinda like it! If it is heavy enough for snowmen maybe we will do that! :)

@CatLadyDiary noooo don't shovel!! Shoveling is the worst!!! Please be careful!

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Mario I think it is gonna be FUN as long as the power doesn't go out! If I were still working or had to go out I wouldn't think it was too much fun. You had 6 and are getting another 6? You are getting more than your fair share too!! Stay safe, warm and cozy! xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  35. Cody looks adorable, and that cat video was just so precious.

As for the snow, it started about 6am here and is falling at a fast pace (12-18" expected between today and tomorrow)...sighh We have not shoveled our deck since the first snowfall after Christmas and it is 3" tall now.

  36. Stay safe. My Mom is worried about my human sister having to drive in Missouri today and tomorrow. And some of your storm is headed east, too, to help dump even MORE snow there! NYC has had nearly 60 inches this season. CRAZEE!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Cute video! Though I admit, I've definitely had my fill of winter. I'm ready for spring. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Pup Fan thanks I love it too! We are ready for Spring also, who isn't? BOL!

@Simba thank you, we will! Ohhh nooo your sister is driving in Missouri? I hope she is safe...I know...poor NYC....they haven't had a break since winter started ((((hugs))))

@Diane...nope that isn't my Cody but I am so happy that you liked the photo. You are supposed to get what we are getting tonight...you must be sending it our way!! UGH!! Build a snowman...I am seriously thinking of doing that! Stay safe, warm and snuggly!

  39. oh I LOVED the video! so relaxing and simple and a wonderful reminder how to breath in the simple moments. I have a video of my cat and dog talking a walk together - both off leash (but safe). I can watch that video over and over again!

Not to pimp my posts, but I do have one post about my cat being on Facebook. Here is the link:

  40. Well, I'm glad to live in the desert and avoid the snow...40 years was enough!
I hope everybody stays safe and warm, and please pray for the poor stray animals out in this weather.

    ReplyDelete
  41. We hope everyone stays warm up there. Here in NC we've had some pretty cold weather this winter, and a good snowfall already. Thankfully we're only getting a bit of rain from this particular system.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If you aren't the picture of style! I see a runway contract in the works ;)
We love to watch snow through the window and sometimes we try to swat the flakes. Once I even bonked my head on the window thinking I could grab that flake with my bare paw. Missed.
Our suggestion for hunkering down is nice semi-furry blankets and a little bowl of treats and another of a tuna-juice cocktail. Well, you know what they say: It's 5 o'clock somewhere :D
    xoxoxo

  45. ok guys I am losing my mind (Or blogger just lost THEIRS which is probably the case) I just answered the last five or so comments and don't see my replies anywhere! Also I just cleared a new one to be posted and don't see that comment either. UGH!

@Ann thanks so much! I do too!! Love how you said "zen" kitty!

@Luscious Lucy, everyone thinks that is Cody but nope it isn't! Hope you didn't hurt your head on the window and that tuna juice cocktail sounds amazing!

@Katnip Lounge, thanks sooo much! I get sad when I think of kitties that might be outside. I pray they aren't. Feral cats are pretty good at fending for themselves (as you know!) but I pray they all have shelter

@The Green Monkey, THRILLED that you stopped by to "pimp" your posts...hey don't we all sometimes??? lol. I enjoyed your blog so much that I just signed up to be your newest follower!

@The Whiskeratti, I know I was STUNNED when NC got dumped on with all of that snow! I am glad that you are out of the line of fire for this one!

  46. It just hit here an hour ago! It is wicked! Early predictions were that we'd get about fifteen inches of snow, but now they're saying we may get more than two feet. Don't plan on going anywhere after it hits!

  47. LOVED the video Caren - not sure what my dogs would do if they were ever confronted by snowflakes falling from the sky!! In Cape Town they're just bombarded by the wind!

Love from me, two Yorkies & two maltese in Africa xx

  51. Such a sweet video, that cat is really enjoying the snow :-) I love a good storm when one is safe and warm inside!!! Personally I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow so I can stay home and snuggle with the kitties.

  52. In Indiana, we're having lots of freezing rain. We had a little snow to fool us that it's safe to walk outside, Crunch, crunch. Earlier before the new batch of freezing rain appeared again, I went out to take some photos of icy nature. Luckily, I didn't fall, just crunched down, leaving evidence I'd walked there with holes.

    ReplyDelete
  53. We hope it's not as bad as they said! They had said we may get 20 inches, but I don't think we got that much (it's hard to say how much because of the crazy wind). But, it's finally left us, so it must be coming to your house!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yes, I'm hearing about this big storm and hoping it will miss us, as it is supposed to do.

I guess you guys should curl up together and wait it out. I hope it doesn't affect you too badly at all.

By the way, Cody's on the LOLSpot today.

    ReplyDelete
  55. @CCL Wendy I hope it does miss you! Now they are saying maybe just a foot of snow for us and that it will mostly be an overnight event. I lit candles, we may have some popcorn later so we will have a good time! Can't wait to see Cody, will be right over! Thanks!!

@OKCats OMG you may get 20 inches?? They are now saying about a foot here depending on if there is ice with it. The wind is just beginning to start here...it isn't supposed to kick in til about 7pm and most of it will be overnight. Uh-oh you said it's on the way here??? Ugh! Thanks for sending it! Glad you are safe and sound! xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  56. @Scrappy Grams, it is the ice that is the worst. That is what makes me nervous. You shouldn't be out there!! Please be careful!!! Thanks so much for stopping by! (((hugs)))

@Cat, I am actually just like you. I LOVE IT, when I am home safe and sound with food, water and power! If all of that is fine then I actually really like it! xoxo

@Frankie uh-oh!!! It just started there? It is on it's way here!! hope you are safe and sound! xoxo

@Amin, Hi! Hope you are well!

  65. @Alittlesprite, I just saw about your cyclone on the news! They said it is the largest ever in the history of Australia, I pray you and your family are ok! ((((hugs))))

@blessingsgoddess I don't think we got nearly as much as they were predicting but we got enough and it is going to be still snowing til about noon today

@Fin thank you! More coming today
@The Island Cats, how much did you get? I am thinking we got under 10 here in Farmington Hills, hope you got to stay home from work today, I bet you did! xoxo

@Link everyone thinks that is me but it isn't! It is some poor slob! Love, Cody lol

@Denise how much did you end up with? I think the most we got so far was maybe 10? More snow coming today til at least noon though. Stay safe and warm!

@Catsparella I know! lol. We have had snow on the ground all season but NOTHING like what you guys have been getting! Only 3 or 4 inches at a time here (til last night) but not 15 at a time like you! Yes I know you would love that kitty! xoxoxo

@Au sooooo happy you are eating!!! Fantastic!!!!!! I am soooo happy! Guess what? That isn't Cody but everyone thinks it is! I may have to put a hat on him lol

I love watching flakes just like that kitty. :D

    ReplyDelete
  68. What precious kitties! And you are right... so long as you are safer going out and driving and such, it is a sign that everyone needs to chill (warm?) out, relax, and enjoy the weather :) I'm still trying to find some snow myself! Have a great week Caren

  69. Oh dear, I just realised I've missed so many of your blogs and I'm trying my best to do the catch up reading now.
