Happy 6th Birthday Sweet Roary!

 

It's so hard to believe that our little Professor, Roary (formerly known as Felix when he was adopted), is SIX YEARS OLD!!

Roary is definitely a unique cat, probably the most unique of any who have come before. He is unbelievably loving, (to think I once thought we would never bond), now he is completely obsessed with me as I am with him.

One of my favorite things that has become a daily ritual is Roary and I have genuine "Cat Chats" in the bathroom. Roary and I share a bathroom and whenever I go in, Roary follows......meowing (chatting) up a storm!!!! We literally have full fledged conversations. He meows, I ask questions and he answers. He reminds me of Mr.Ed (those of you of a certain age will remember him), if Lenny approaches the bathroom when Roary is "talking" he immediately stops. He is the silliest boy! Sometimes he will talk so much it's like he is really having a rant! He also weighs himself every evening. He starts with putting just half of himself on the scale, then, I tell him he can't weigh himself with just half of his body on the scale and he will then proceed to sit on the scale to get his accurate weight.

Some of Roary's favorite things are:

1) His beloved Springs

2) He LOVES to cover himself with blankets. If you enter our home and want to sit on our couch you have to be careful and be sure to look for a "lump" under the blanket on the couch.

3) Roary also LOVES to go into my sock drawer and carry my rolled up socks everywhere! (He prefers them to cat toys)

4) He responds consistently to the snapping of my fingers. Anytime I snap my fingers Roary will come running!

5) He wakes me up with head/nose bumps and kisses EVERY SINGLE MORNING. 

6) Harassing Levi. He knows EXACTLY how to get Levi going and it is hilarious!

Roary is truly the funniest, the most curious , loving and intelligent kitty I  have ever had the honor of sharing my life with! Roary is truly a joy!

My furiends, I am just beside myself. This is Cody and of course "SHE" leaves it up to ME to do HER dirty work!

A few weeks ago Mom reviewed Health and Nutrition for Dogs and Cats by David G. Wellock. 
There was also a give-away attached to this review.

GUESS WHO FORGOT?

Mom was so deeply engrossed with the moving of Dakota's blog that she TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT ME! THE COMPLETE AND UTTER NERVE!

Tonight, Mom  FINALLY remembered!

I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE ONCE AGAIN FOR MY MOM'S INEPT WAYS!! It just dawned on me, on this one, I may have to cut Mom some slack. Last Wednesday night I developed a large boil type of thing on my mouth. Mom was busy Wednesday night and Thursday trying to reach the vet driving the vet crazy. As it turns out, it appears it is one of my allergy flare-ups, but this time it surfaced differently than it usually does and Mom was quite nervous. So, for this one I may give her a break.

Hi every kitty! It's Cody! My Mom and I follow lots tons of blogs and one of them that we derive great amusement from is called The Teacher's Pets or "Life Is A Treat For A Teacher And Her Pets!" Mom and I thought that with students having returned to school this past week it would be appropriate to feature this fun blog!

CAT CHAT IS ONE YEAR OLD TODAY!!

October seems to be THE month of celebrations in my little world! First we had Dakota's "Gotcha Day", my birthday, and now my tiny little one, (CAT CHAT) turns ONE YEAR OLD, TODAY, OCTOBER 25TH, 2010.

What a year!

This blog originated as kind of a tribute to my beloved Bobo who allowed me to share HIS SPACE, and gave me his entire heart and soul unselfishly for the most wonderful 18 years of my life.

It was (and is) a thank you to HIM for the joy and comfort he brought to me.

I now have a precious silver tabby, Cody, who is fearless, silly and loving and who brought me more comfort than I ever could have imagined when I adopted him 2 weeks after my Bobo passed. I could not have made it through that time without his warm fur cuddled around my neck as he liked to do when he was a kitten. (He STILL tries to do that now, not realizing he is too fat to do it! lol)

My husband put this on my birthday cake!

  There is still so much I have to learn, so much more to write about and I hope that all of you continue with me on this journey.

I can't have a blog without YOU, My fellow kitty lovers, and I would be remiss if I neglected to mention the many doggie lovers who have become readers and the wonderful fellow bloggers I have met along the way. That has been one of the most welcome surprises of all!

If I have done nothing more than simply make you smile, even for a moment, then I will view this blog as a success.

I was re-reading my very first post (with no photos because as I have said many times I had no clue how to post photos or video when Cat Chat was a newborn) and my objective with this blog  is the same today as it was one year ago, to make Cat Chat a cozy corner, where you can curl up with a comforter and a cup of cat nip and possibly have a grin as wide as the Cheshire Cat while reading! We all share an important trait, WE LOVE CATS!

Some of you have been with me since the very first post, others I have met along the way, to ALL OF YOU, Cody and I say THANK YOU FOR READING CAT CHAT!

Hi All!


It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the long awaited "Cat Chat" is finally ready to roll!!

This is not only my blog but YOURS as well!

My goal for "Cat Chat" is to be a place not where I am spewing zillions of cat facts (who wants to read something like that?) My ultimate goal is for this to be a cozy corner (you know like the one your cat curls up in to relax?) A place for cat lovers to come to share their stories, their questions, their thoughts and their concerns and their passion for their furry little motor boat purrers.

The key? Interaction. I want to hear anything and everything about your favorite feline and I will share some feline fun as well.....
