"We're Talkin' Baseball, We're Talkin' Tribe!" #GoTribe and maybe a little #DetroitTigers love too!

Sorry guys, but this takes the place of any Wordless Wednesday hopping around!
As many of you know, Mom is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. She lived there for 35 years! She didn't move to Michigan until 2001.

So, when her Cleveland sports teams do something to brag about, which is a rare occurrence indeed! Her heart belongs to Cleveland.

Today, the Cleveland Indians are playing a "do-or-die" game against the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Wild Card playoffs. Mom is purring with all of her might that Cleveland wins and advances in the playoffs. If they lose....they are out.

This photo is from when Mom was lucky enough to attend the World Series in '95 (she was also there in '97)
The music in the video below used to be played on Channel 43 WUAB-Cleveland for all home games and it brings back some great memories!

Now, if by some miracle the Indians advance and continue on, there is an outside chance they will be playing the AL Champion Detroit Tigers, who play their first playoff game in the American League Central, this Friday, they are also the team that Mom cheers for whenever the Indians are NOT playing!

Since Tigers are felines, who do you think that I want to win? Don't know? Well, check it out below! Be sure to notice which team my paw is pointing to....Mom is hoping that this is NOT a harbinger of things to come!

GOOD LUCK TO THE CLEVELAND INDIANS

AND THE DETROIT TIGERS!

  2. We don't follow baseball, so best of luck to your teams. We would rather play with a crinkle ball than a baseball.

    1. Jen I LOVE YOU! Only those of us from Cleveland understand your comment. I feel the same. My husband said he has never seen people more negative about their sports teams than Cleveland fans. That's because we are ALWAYS let down!! Remember I lived there for 35 years! Remember the ball sailing through Charle's Nagy's legs when they played the Marlins in the 90s? I was on the phone ordering my T-shirt when they blew it :(

  8. We'll be listening at the stables while doing chores. It will be quite the miracle if they win since they have already won 10 in a row. 11 in a row seems unheard of. A Cleveland team in the playoffs seems unheard of. Bring on the midges!

    1. Hi Judi! It isn't unheard of! They won 10 in a row and had a little time off..they can do it! They were in the playoffs I believe in 2007...that was the last time. I am just happy that I get to watch them and pray they pull this off! Goooo Tribe!

  18. And if they play each other? MOL! TW wants the Indians to win cos of Jason Giambi and Nick Swisher but she says them having all those Yankees doesn't bode well. Then again, she thinks the Rays have a better chance to beat the Sox, so she's thinking Rays. Everyone says the WS is gonna be Dodgers/Sox. I dunno. BTW, TW and Pop went to the WS in 98, 99, 2000, and 2009 and they saw the clinching game twice! BTW, how could you have lived in Cleveland 35 years when you're only 35 now?

  19. Good luck Cleveland Indians :)
I used to love Cleveland (I forgot the name, it's a basketball team) I liked them during Micheal Jordan era.

Dad laughed at some of the Cleveland comments about how down the town can be on their teams. Hey we live outside Phila and... Well Go Tigers! MOL
