Michigan Humane Society Certified Pre-Owned Cats are made in Michigan, loaded with adorable features and include a thorough multi-point inspection. Now, for a limited time only, MHS is offering a special deal to move these cats and kittens off the showroom floor and right into more loving homes! For two days only, Friday Aug. 31, and Saturday, Sept. 1, the adoption fee for all cats and kittens at MHS’ three adoption centers, in Detroit, Rochester Hills and Westland, will be waived! That’s right, for $0 down and 0% financing, you can drive home with your very own MHS Certified Pre-Owned Cat!

The MHS multi-point inspection includes no-cost microchipping, spay or neuter surgery, all age-appropriate vaccinations, the 60-day MHS Adoption Guarantee and much more. All adopters will meet with an MHS Adoption Counselor to ensure that the pet will be a good fit for their family, home and lifestyle.

MHS launched the Certified Pre-Owned Cat program in 2009 to help spur cat adoptions during the most difficult months of the year, when cat intakes increase dramatically. The program has received national recognition as a fun and lighthearted way to use Detroit’s reputation as the Motor City to help promote cat adoptions and save more lives.

  1. That's awesome! Such a good idea, especially being in Michigan. I wish we were closer, my parents' 17 year old cat died a few weeks ago and Mom was thinking about adopting "at least 2 kittens in the spring".
    She said she wouldn't be ready until then, but she was already checking out a shelter the other day.:)

  2. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!
    That is the cutestad we have ever seen and the cutest idea!!
    Good luck to all these kitties!

    Sherlock xo

  4. Love it! I hope they sell out of every model!

  5. awaww...I luv doing the {used car" stuff about rescuing cats and dogs...so great..nice! Savannah

  6. I love this idea! And I'd love to have more pre-owned cats, but where I live only permits 2, so I'm already over the limit.

  7. For someone who love cats AND marketing, this is a TREAT!!! I just adore this campaign. So clever. I hope it's a HUGE success.

  8. Wonderful ad.

    No problem with not linking back to us yesterday for Brulee's birthday. It wasn't a requirement. We were just happy you could join us on her special day.

    Truffle and Brulee

  9. @Sweet Purrfections you are sooo kind! It isn't like me to not link back, I don't know what I was thinking of. I DID share it on Facebook and Twitter! Thank you for understanding and Cody is thrilled to have shared in Brulee's special day!! xoxo

    @Katie and Glogirly I couldn't agree with you more! Having been in advertising forever I wish I had thought of it!

    @Oui Oui I hear ya. I am only allowed 2 pets where I live and i have my two :)

    @Savannah we couldn't agree more!

    @Brian me too!!

    @Sherlock you are so sweet! I am sure Michigan Humane will be thrilled that you and everyone liked it! xoxo

    @Tillie and Georgia we love the campaign too!! xoxo

    @2 Punk dogs I am so sorry about your parents having lost their 17 year old kitty. I am so sorry. When I lost my 18 yr old cat back in 2007 I didn't think I could adopt another right away either. Within 2 weeks I adopted my precious Cody. He helped to lessen the hurt. He didn't replace Bobo, I am just making new memories with him. Your parents will know when the time is right! :)

  10. Those kitties are so adorable.

    Just want to share a story with you which happened on Monday: One of the yoga ladies in our class found a crate with 3 tiny beautiful kitties at the club that we practise yoga in the morning. This lady had already adopted 2 dogs from SPCA and an abandoned kitty found at the club last year and there wasn't any room for the 3 new kitties. Another yoga lady heard about it and agreed to take the kitties home. She then named them K, D, and E. (KDE actually is the 3 initials from the name of the club that we are there 3 times a week.) I just feel that those two ladies are so sweet. :)

  11. @Priscilla that is the SWEETEST story ever!!! I love it!! Please keep me updated as to how they are doing, thanks for sharing! xoxoxo

  12. Oh my gosh, I love the phrase "Certified Pre-Owned". That would certainly fit many of the kittens and cats our humane society accepts from our spay/neuter program. I'm going to send the link to our shelter's Executive Director.

  13. OMC! Love it, love it, love it. I'm like Katie and Glogirly and love cats and marketing, this is brilliant! I hope they get those kitties adopted. Now I'm thinking of Miami themes to get our kitties adopted--let's see what are we known for? NBA champs, Salsa dancing, topless sunbathers...oh my!

  14. WE LOVE this campaign & have shared it with our shelter!
