  1. Gotta give it a nay.
    Just some more inexperienced ad execs that think all you need to do to make a great ad today is put a couple of cute kittens in it. Clearly there were no pet lovers sitting around the conference table when THIS was dreamed up. ...And the guy is pretty creepy to boot. (no boot pun intended)

  2. Silly! Me no like! As Katie says, clearly whoever thought of it is no cat lover and don't understand cats. har har har *evil laughs*

  3. Not my cup of tea either. Nice that they asked you for feedback though!

  4. Hi Guys...frankly I told them I didn't like it either. Didn't like the idea as cats as "slippers" creepy. Thanks for sharing your input!

  5. A rather silly commercial though the cats were adorable...not as "boots" but when running around like what cats do. :)

  6. If they think that advert will sell more Temptations they've just failed miserebly in my opinion.

    It's a big thumbs down from me. I thought adverts were supposed to promote products not turn cat lovers against them which is what i think will happen.

    Time to pull the plug and start again.

    Sheba.

  7. I...as well as the rest of us can certainly see where they were going with this and the idea itself was good. Just that it could have been done better with a cat owner in on the planning.

    I like that they used a man. I hope they will again. I got the point that the cats loved the Temptations so much they didn't want to leave him and thet he loved them enough to not want to "disturb them" by pulling them off before he went to work. But it wasn't carrried thru in a manner to please cat owners who would/will be viewing it.

  8. We didn't care for it. We didn't think that was at all like cats do when the Temptations bag shakes. Hugs and nose kisses

  9. WE didn't like it either and it really didn't ever show the cats eating the treats. There are so many other ways to advertise the treats. Give me a video camera, and watch all these cats here go nuts. LOL. Take care.

  10. like a cat would really do that,sorry doesn't do much for me,would make me change channel just to not watch the add

  11. For one horrible second there, I thought it was going to be cat fur boots. Was really pleased to find out they were alive. I think it's rather cute. Definitely memorable.

  12. It's a "meh" from me too! As others say, abit creepy!! BTW Austin is addicted to Temptations, they do make him go crazy!!!

  13. My cats love "temptations" but definitely not for this ad... There's so much they could do that to me it makes no sense to advertise them like this.

  14. We agree whoever said "creepy" is right .... and cheesy and just plain a rather dumb idea.

  15. Just seen this ad for the first time and me and my kids were rolling with laughter! Love it! And I am a mama to two children and three fluffy children (and ex Birman breeder)

    It's great!

  16. It is dumb even my 6 year old granddaughter didnt like it. She said it was cruel to pull cats around like that.

  17. I didn't think the people were likable, and both were a little creepy. They should do a commercial with kittens, or maybe cute cat antics. Something you'd like to watch.

  18. I sort of see what happened here--somebody thought of the play on the word shake. But the guy & the woman are not appealing at all and the shot of the kitties clinging is weird.

    Maybe they should've gone with the kitties following somebody around all the time instead. And maybe not this guy.

  19. Ok, I didn't mind the cats as boots, reminds me of my Johnny Walker when he wants food. But the rest of the tone was like stepping on eggshells and woman's expression was "creepy".
    Maybe a possible approach: he's feeding them Temptations, and as he's leaving for work, they run and jump on his legs "No DON"T LEAVE--we want more!" And pet owner says "it's not bring your pet to work day..." just a thought.

  20. I thought the advert was silly. The two people were not what I would call creepy, but they had no personality at all. It certainly wouldn't encourage me to buy Temptations if I didn't already do so.

  21. No, Nope, Na-da, absolutely not, by no means, negative, never, nix, no way, not at all, not by any means, bletch, yuck

  22. I guess I'm in the minority. I thought it was funny. I do agree that the two people had no personality at all but I liked that it was a man with the cats. I could see my cats clinging to me like that!

  23. Love this commercial! Makes me smile every time!

  24. Omg! My husband and I laughed so hard because that is our cat!!! I thought those were uggs and laughed when I thought of my cat hugging on my foot and carrying him to work!!! Lol!!! Freaking hilarious!!

  25. To all the haters that have posted negatively, wah wah, the lady mistakes the cats for boots, I laugh every time I see the commercial, because its funny, and easily marketable because you remember what the product is. Either way the commercial is a success!

  27. What the heck are people talking about when they say the idea of cat boots is cruel? It has NOTHING to do with cat boots. It has to do with the cats love Temptations so much that they are clinging onto his ankles for more. Duh. Seriously. DUH!! I thought it was clever and I liked it a lot!

  28. On a side note:

    Can anyone tell me what breed these cats are?

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Tim thanks for stopping by...I am not certain but they look like the Rag Doll breed to me but I am not sure

    @radeelover that is probably what the brand intended when they made the commercial but to each his own! We don't all like the same things, that's why there is chocolate and vanilla :)

    @Scrappy thank you for your opinion, but when someone doesn't care for something it doesn't mean that they are "haters" Have a great day!

    @eener glad you liked it!

    @Cas Mill glad you liked it as well!

    @Andrea we all can't like the same things but I am sure they are glad you enjoyed it!

    @city you are welcome!

    @Nellie I agree!

    @Eric and Flynn I agree and adding to that, it is rare that ANY commercial makes me buy ANYTHING. It is my experience with the product itself that determines whether or not I will buy it

    @Christine I like that interpretation!

    @Spitty I agree!

    @Oui Oui yep!

    @biggie 55 you have a smart granddaughter :)

    @Dee glad everyone enjoyed it!

    @Abby nodding head :)

    @Brian nor me

    @Sunshine agreed!
    @Repositorio lol

    @Cat see? Austin likes them WITHOUT the commercial!

    @longlifecatsanddogs I think that is what everyone was reacting to, including me!

    @speedyrabbit great point!

    @Marg ohhhh yesssssss! Your crew would be purrfect!

    @chancy we totally agree!

  30. What's wrong with you people? This ad was hilarious and here's why: The actors were supposed to have little personality, it's called dead-pan, which makes it all the more funny. It was imaginative, original and eye catching and most importantly comedically awkward. It completely caught me off guard, so much so that I was still laughing after it ended. This ad is going to go viral with a younger pop-culture type of audience and will become the model for a ton of different comedic parodies. It's so clever that the next time someone say they like my boots I am going to look down at my feet and awkwardly say, "they're not boots...they're my cats." Job well done Temptations.

  31. I think this commercial is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!! The cats are adorable and so sweet. I love it! Its over-the-top ridiculous; thats why its so funny; completely unrealistic and outrageous.

  32. I think the commercial is sooooooo funny because its so highly unrealistic; the cats are adorable and super-sweet. I love it!

  33. I totally agree with H. Hopkins. I used to work in an office and this is actually very true of how conversations are. And I found myself loving this commercial, because it caught me so off guard. It's different than all these other "emotional" and "heart tugging" commercials aimed at animal lovers. Great job Temptations!

  34. Hilarious! Reminds me of the awkwardness of Napoleon Dynamite.

  35. I cant get over how much those cats look like my Persian Galaxy :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. The breed is Himalayan Persian.. I have a cat who is identical..

  37. I love this commercial!! It
    puts a smile on my face every
    time I see it! I think they got the right cats for the boots,
    the right person to wear the boot
    and the right person asking the questions - It's a Wonderful commercial.

  40. Absolutely hilarious and memorable. I think the commentator who opined that what makes the ad is how much it catches you off guard hit the nail on the head. And of course the completely adorable Himalayans.
