Catty Stacks, A Guest Blog By Haute Or Not Pets Plus Our Featured "Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable Pet" Found On Petfinder!

Cat Chat is proud to present a guest blog by Haute Or Not Pets, their "human" and their resident cat "Marvin"! Today they are bringing to us a review and demonstration of one of Marvin's favorite hide-outs, his Catty Stacks! Soon they will be your kitty's favorite hide-out too! Now....on to the review!

4 Paws Up For Catty Stacks!!

When the Catty Stacks arrived, I have to say I too was a little dubious. I mean, I can give my cat cardboard any old time. Any box that sits on the floor for more than 5 seconds and he's climbing into it - or trying to.
But I set them up, and waited.

Marvin investigated. He sniffed, he prowled. He finally went in. Now, Marvin is a manly cat. He is black and has a physique that's best described as 'heavy-weight boxer'. His middle section did scrape the sides.

So I was dubious - would this suit the huskier of the cat world? Sure they're sturdy, but...cat's have egos... Turns out, the Catty Stacks are sturdy and clip together very well. They hold. And Marvin loves to lurk in one corner of them, with an eye glinting, watching for prey, sticking a paw at the ready to strike any stray string, limbs or feathers on a stick that may waft by out one round hole, and stick his elegant but manly tail out of a corner.
They do indeed fit the huskier cats. In Marvin's case, just - his middle scrapes the sides. However, as the ad says, one size does not fit all! I chose not to make the openings bigger because Marvin loves to be in a space where he can spy, but can also hide.

What I like about them is they are strong, they clip together, and a cat can stalk from within. Marvin actually climbs in and loves to play, lurk and even sleep in them. This is a great, inexpensive play house for cats, and you can build forts and cities and change them up, to keep even the most demanding cat happy.

Catty Stacks are also eco-friendly...all materials are selected for their recyclable, renewable, or sustainable properties. They use highly recycled, post-consumer cardboard, 100% soy-based ink, and felt made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.

Can't image any kitty that wouldn't love a stack as a holiday gift... just sayin'!!!

Catty Stacks? We say, HAUTE!

Speaking of "haute", Cody and I say it is "haute" to "adopt a less adoptable pet!" One that may be a senior or who has a disability/condition that would make he/she less likely to be adopted.

One such cat is Benjamin Parker,  We found Benjamin on Petfinder, "BP is an older boy but still very healthy and playful. He is waiting for his soul-mate to read, cuddle and dream of warm places... if thats you, dont keep him waiting."

To get more information about Benjamin or to give him his "furever home" Contact "Caring For Cats" located in West Bloomfield, Michigan  at 248-360-4763

  6. Hi Sage! I don't believe that Benjamin has found his "furever" home unless you know something that I don't!

  7. Love the post, the Catty Stacks are a great invention. Banana boxes are easy to come by and have been a permanent feature at the Hovel but they need holes cut in the sides. Benjamin would be welcome here - I feel a bit empty still after my tabby Bess died last month, but although Piggy (aka Porgy) her sister seemed to take her loss well I noticed she started head-butting the bad boy Bugs soon after - a departure from norm. The first time I saw it Piggy got a right hook for her trouble!

My hobby is making cat 'paintings' with Photoshop, but only when the composition is painterly and the junk can be removed. Take care everyone.

  8. @24 Paws Of Love-I want some myself! My Cody would love them! We have a dog as well but we keep the cat toys separate from him...our Sheltie would probably destroy these...I would keep them away from him.

  10. @corfubob, I am so sorry about the loss of your beloved tabby "Bess"...I am so sorry...I know how that is. I lost my beloved first tabby Bobo 3 yrs ago. Still feels like yesterday sometimes.
    Hope I didn't read "right-hooking" your kitty...not acceptable!

  11. I'm purring dat Benjamin finds a good home too. Now those stacks - they look like they might be fun. I do like getting into boxes and bags (what kitty doesn't), so maybe M had better order a couple for me.

  12. Mario I sure hope that Benjamin gets a good home too!!

OMC I know those stacks look GREAT!! Cody is bugging me to get him some too! Hmmm...the holidays are right around the corner. Mario I KNOW you have been a GOOD BOY! Maybe you will get some!
    Love to you and M!!

  13. Piggy and Bugs remain friends - his 'right-hook' was more of a thump on the head - from surprise probably. None of them actually fight, and friendships last a long time do they not? I found some pictures of Bess still in the 'raw' file, still a bit hard to write cat stuff, but will post soon.

  14. What a clever invention, the Catty Stacks is so cool!

I hope Benjamin can find his furever home as soon as possible. All the furkids in the shelter deserve to have a sweet home and someone who loves them.

It's not the faults of them but the irresponsible humans who cause them end up in a shelter home!

  17. Here's hoping Benjamin gets a good home quickly! Maybe there will be Catty Stacks there. They look like fun, and I don't know a cat who can resist a box.

  18. Hey Caren, how are you? I have to catch up on your articles. I have been so busy lately. This is a great idea and the best part about it is that it's eco-friendly. Hope you are well!

  20. I love black cats (mine is a dsh names Georgia) and she looks divine peeking out from her pink Catty Stacks. But, looks aside, she stalks us from inside for 'prey' or, in our case, our Chihuahua Roxi to walk by. The holes are great for jutting her paw out for a quick swipe.
