Happy 2nd Birthday to our Roary!!!!

 It is so hard to believe that today is our little Roary's 2nd birthday!!!!!

Roary was super excited when a box from Chewy arrived (Chewy knows nothing about this post and I received NOTHING for mentioning their name), he had a feeling that there were prezzies in it for him! He was right!

Oh my look at what Roary found!!!! A brand new wand toy that came with FOUR attachments!! He couldn't wait to begin playing.

Roary is a funny little guy. He is the only kitty I have ever known that is NOT in love with catnip toys or any tiny cat toys (other than the bouncy springs they make for kitties).

Roary's favorite things to play with are wand toys and he LOVES scratchers. Scratchers of any type immediately capture his attention. So what was his other gift? You guessed it! A brand spanking new scratcher!!

I am thrilled that he loves it so much!!!

Roary is our little Marshmallow Professor. He is super independent and smart. Cuddly (but sadly, mostly with his Dad), but he saves his "chattiness" for me. I am the one he "talks" to, (he's probably cursing me out lol).

He is definitely a "Daddy's Boy", he loves me, but in his own way. That was (and still is) a major adjustment for me since both Angels Bobo and Cody were completely obsessed with me and always in close proximity. Roary just shows his love in his own way and I respect that.

We all love our Marshmallow Professor and we wish him the HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS!!!!

Simple Cat Scratcher Incline from Way Basics

 

Hi everyone! Today it's me, Roary pawing on the computer, and I think this just might be my FIRST product review that I am doing ALL BY MYSELF! Now don't get me wrong, the kitty that came bbefore me, (and who this blog is dedicated to, Cody, did MANY product reviews, this is just the first one for ME!) I'm excited, but I have some pretty big paws to fill...  here goes!

 Mom was given the opportunity to have me try a Cat Scratcher from a company called Way Basics and she said because I am a HUGE fan of Cat Scratchers, she would let me try it out.

It arrived a few days ago,  and when it arrived, being an extremely curious and intelligent kitty, I had to check it out myself.

There were just a few pieces to put together and some clear instructions.

Mom and I love that Way Basics believes in "keeping things easy and simple." That translates to not having a zillion pieces and parts to put together! We also love that they are an "eco company" and a "green company."

Mom and I love how you can either stand the scratcher up or lay it down. Unfortunately, because of the Giant Sheltie that I live with, I can't use the scratcher in the living room (he would think it was lunch!!). For now, I am using it in Mom and Dad's bedroom where MANY of my other toys are. There isn't a ton of free wall space there, and Mom didn't stand it up against the cabinet yet, so there are no photos of me using it standing up. I use mine with the scratcher laying down and I love it just the same! It's super versatile to have a scratcher that can stand up OR lay down!

When mine arrived I couldn't wait for Mom to put it together, it was so easy that even I could have put it together WITHOUT NEEDING THUMBS!!

I LOVED the organic catnip that was included. Mom sprinkled it on top. That's mostly for kitties that AREN'T naturally curious like I am! I would have checked it out regardless, but Mom put the catnip on just to be safe. I loved that nip so much that I started licking it! (that's why in some photos you see some wetness on the scratcher, that's from my over zealous licking!)

I was pretty darned intrigued!

As I mentioned above, I tend to lay down when I am scratching, I do that much more than scratching when I am standing, but Mom and I are happy that because this scratcher has an incline enabling it to  stand up against a wall or furniture, that we can change it up depending on my mood! HAVING A SCRATCHER THAT IS VERSATILE is PAWTASTIC!!

I just love this scratcher!!

 Kitties, I think you need to get one of these scratchers ASAP! They are super affordable and versatile! You will have LOTS AND LOTS of fun scratching!

Cat Lady Goodies and Fun on #NationalCatLadyDay !! #catladybox #catladyboxday

  Today is the PURRFECT day to feature some items that I purchased that all arrived within the past week (except for one item that I ran into at CatCon online which I will be featuring at a later date). I wasn't compensated in any way for this post, I purchased the items myself, and wanted to share them with you because I am so happy with them! What better day to feature them than on National Cat Lady Day!

What fun it was (in spite of some major technical glitches that made me have to leave), to attend a few events at CatCon line Saturday, (and I am hoping to pop in today, which is Sunday, the day I am writing this post).

Due to the pandemic, it was held online. I LOVED the segment "Being A Cat Lady in 2021" which featured Heidi Gardner from SNL (the proud cat mama of 3 kitties, all rescues!!) and Georgia Hardstark of "My Favorite Murder." The segment was led by Susan Michals the creator of CatCon and National Cat Lady Day. The segment had the three debunking the "crazy cat lady" title that some have assigned to  a woman who has 3 or more cats, and it was heartfelt as well as hilarious!

Now, on to the items that I ordered and received within the past week. The first is the INCREDIBLE

I have been chomping at the bit for YEARS to get a subscription to the fantastic Cat Lady Box, which is a monthly box for cat ladies and their cats, the brainchild of a person who I have always admired and have known through blogging since about 2011 or so, Dorian Wagner.

The box is a monthly treat, it contains unique, high quality and exclusive cat lady items. You have more than likely seen this box featured NUMEROUS times on various blogs, but the blog that has featured them the most is Melissa's Mochas, Mysteries and Meows, I would sit there reading her wonderful blog wishing I could get a subscription and FINALLY I was able to sign up! (Melissa always featured them on her own without receiving compensation, just because she loves the boxes as well!)

The box contains cat-themed shirts, (the quality of these shirts are NOT cheapo T-shirt material, the ones I have received are unique and well made. The shirt in the April box was a complete delight because it had a V-neck, which isn't that common in T-shirts, especially in a subscription box! ). You could also receive jewelry, home decor, accessories, art and more, all delivered in a box that your cat will love to play with!

The theme for April is "Neon Vibes" There is an adorable Neon Cat Umbrella, a Neon MEOW Shirt, a Neon Cat Zipper Pouch, for Roary "Rod the Lightning Catnip Toy" and the "Totally Tubular Neon Wand Toy". The darling kitty illustration was done by the featured cat lady artist: Melanie Schultz. I am beyond excited to be receiving my box monthly, there are different subscriptions available which you can check out by visiting Cat Lady Box.

The next items I ordered I discovered when I attended Cat Camp online approximately a week or so ago. 

How cute are these masks? I know, right?  The Catnip Dispensary has sooo many cute items on their site! There are toys for your kitty, (super clever ones!)  as well as the masks. (I didn't see the mask cord adjuster beads until this second and wish I had seen them before because my mask was super loose. I knotted the end of mine because I didn't know about the beads!) Check out my photo below, my eyes look completely crazed for some reason, but ignore that and focus on the mask! I wanted to look like Roary.

Ok, so I could never be as adorable as Roary, but you have to admit that mask ROCKS!!! All orders from their site ship within one to three days. I had a question when I first ordered and they responded in a timely manner.

The day my SkratchKabin™ arrived I knew the second I saw the box that something special was inside! I was beside myself with excitement! Mom could not take it out of the box fast enough! Mom was shocked because unlike most items that arrive for me that takes me days, even weeks to check out, that was NOT the case with my SkratchKabin™ !! I IMMEDIATELY went inside and started investigating! It must have had some kind of a smell that I liked because I just couldn't get enough of it! The SkratchKabin™ that I received is  a lovely dark brown. (There are color variations in my photos due to lighting changes in the room and photo editing). It is  designed to blend in with any interior. Our living room is primarily earth tones (browns, olive green, tan, etc.) so it fits in purrfectly! It is a great size too! The overall dimensions are : L 20 " (51cm)  x W 16" (40.5cm)  x H 13" (32cm) and it fits quite nicely right next to one of our couches and is completely unobtrusive. Can you see my nose and whiskers peeking out? The SkratchKabin™  is a  warm and cozy place for me to sleep. I can scratch it if I want to, the curved, textured scratching surface is wonderful for my manly claws! I don't normally scratch our furniture, but for kitties who are inclined to do that, this is the purrfect alternative to ripping to shreds one of your humans' favorite chairs or couches! The SkratchKabin™ is available in 3 gorgeous colors and comes complete with a machine washable KatKushion, (that is the green pad you see me sitting on in the photos), it is super comfy. It also comes with  a FREE toy hanger and a FREE sisal mouse!! (I did not hang my sisal mouse because Dakota hangs out in the living room with me and Mom was afraid he might try and eat the mousie. I love to hang out here and just watch my Sheltie brother doing the crazy things that he does. It also offers me a great haven to escape to so that I can get away from his maddening barking!!! Speaking of Dakota, has anyone seen him? He doesn't seem to be over there, or over here.............

(Hey Lucy, you're no kitten anymore, you aren't fooling ME!) Once again...I digress........people and kitties, I was talking about getting carried away SCRATCHING CARDBOARD! Get your mind out of the gutter!!! This scratcher will hold up much longer than other scratchers will because it is made out of such high quality cardboard!
