Kittenhood: capture a kitten on camera for International Cat Care (iCatCare) photo competition

If there’s one thing the internet loves, it is kittens and this year feline charity International Cat Care (iCatCare) is searching for photos of kittens for its annual photography competition.

With the brand-new theme of ‘Kittenhood’ the charity is inviting both amateur and professional photographers from across the globe to enter images of adorable newborns and curious kittens (up to six months of age) – whether they’re snoozing, playing, or just looking irresistibly cute.

Now in its sixth year, the competition has collectively attracted over 12,000 entries from all over the world. Eve Davies, who has run the competition for the last three years, said: ‘Over 2000 images were sent into last year’s Street Cats competition and the resulting calendar sold out! We’re hoping that this year’s competition will be more popular and successful than ever to help us celebrate our 60^th anniversary and to raise vital funds for our work.’

Twelve winning images will be selected by the iCatCare judges to feature in the charity’s 2019 calendar (and other materials) which will be sold to raise funds for the charity’s welfare work, with one of these being crowned the overall winner and gracing the front cover. All twelve winners will each receive a certificate, copies of the calendar and a selection of iCatCare merchandise. The overall winner will also receive £500 in prize money.

Winners! #Purina Presents the “Purr-fect Times of our Lives” Photo Contest! on Cat Chat!

Hi my furiends! This is Cody and today I present to you the WINNERS of the Purina Presents the  “Purr-fect Times of our Lives” Photo Contest!

This was a tough one I gotta admit.  Mom enlisted the help of Dad and I when selecting the winners. There was much hissing, biting, scratching and clawing, because there were a few that we disagreed with Dad on. What we ended up deciding to do, was to pick the winners based on how closely they conveyed how they incorporate their cats into the special times of their lives.
When picking the winners we all agreed upon choosing the photos that showed the most AUTHENTIC cat behavior, not photos like my Mom makes where she just takes photos and puts in some holiday graphics. We thought that this would be the fairest way to go. We wish everyone could have been a winner but unfortunately we were limited to selecting just FIVE.

So, now, here are our FIVE WINNERS (in NO particular order! There was NO WAY we were gonna go THERE!).

"This is how we celebrate Christmas. We unwrap gifts and let the paper fall all over the floor as the kitties can have some fun playing in it...We also have fun getting them in the mood for Christmas by decorating the tree to amuse them." Connie puts CAT TOYS on their tree! Since she could only submit one photo we unfortunately aren't displaying the tree :(

Oh! Hi everyone, it's Cody and ya  caught me mid trill! I am so happy that you stopped by today! I told ya that December was gonna be a purrfectly FUN month!  All sorts of things for you to win! You thought I was pullin' your furry little legs now didn't ya? Well! I wasn't!

Yesterday I asked you about your holiday traditions and so many of you have shared! Mom and I are lovin' reading about everything that all of you kitties hold dear during the holiday season.

 Today, I want to talk to  you about DECORATING! You see, being a Jewish kitty it's kinda boring for me around the holidays. You can only do so much with Chanukah decorations ya know? You have the Menorah...and...the Menorah....and...then there's the.... MENORAH! You get my drift!  As a Purina Pet Blogger, I am happy to tell you that the folks  at Purina Purr have provided great holiday decorating tips for decorating challenged kitties like myself and for those kitties that know a thing or two about stringin' the lights!

 My furiends at Purina are always up to somethin' and this year they are really putting the "HO-HO-HO" in your HOLIDAY! Based on the great holiday decorating tips,  Purina, along with our furiends at Petco where I just happen to have been adopted from, but I digress, have created the:

Well, Sammy's Mom is certainly on the ball, unlike my lazy, slacker of a Mom who STILL has assorted prizes from Dakota's blog that haven't made it to their rightful owners, but I digress. Not only is she on the ball, she is BEYOND generous!! Let me show you my prizes!
