Cat World Domination Day. It started in 2012, and it was created by Sparkle who was the kitty before Summer on the blog Sparkle Cat.  Sparkle was turning 10 that year on June 24, and her human wanted to do something special for her,  so she created a holiday that fit right in with her personality. Because Sparkle was known for her books and advice on how cats can dominate the humans in their lives, Cat World Domination Day only made sense. You can see the blog post for the very first Cat World Domination Day here.

As anyone with half a brain knows, even in "bi-petual" households it's CATS who RULE!! We may not overtly appear to be ruling, but trust me, we ARE!

I know Dakota and I aren't "brothers" in the traditional sense, but we all know that sometimes those who aren't your blood (or species) oftentimes make the BEST siblings of all!

My Mom is screwed because she stays up til all hours of the morning watching mindless TV and  then gets up at no later than 7am. She will be crabby for at least a week because she NEVER takes naps! 

I just think it's funny because they made a day named after what kitties are smart enough to do EVERY DAY!!

FROM CAT CHAT WITH CAREN AND CODY: So far, this seems to be the "week of the flashback"...why? Well, we just happen to like yesterday's post from last year and today's post from last year as well. Since sometimes people don't see our blogs for whatever reason, we are repeating another post from last year today. Why? "Because we LIKE it!!" 

Hi all, it's Cody and today is  Answer Your Cat's Questions Day. Seriously? You are kidding, right? 

I'm going to ask YOU, a mere human for answers to questions?

Think again.

Let me put it to you this way dear humans, YOU find me an ANSWER as to why there are so many cats who are homeless and YOU find a SOLUTION to the problem, and then....MAYBE....JUST THEN....I will trust your "wisdom" enough to even bother asking YOU questions.

In the meantime, don't waste my time........or that of my fellow felines.

Allow us to just be the sagacious beings that we are,  without bothering us, thank you very much.

In honor of the recent passing of Senator John McCain (whose political views I didn't always agree with, but I admire his courage, his dedication to our country, his way of knowing, saying AND DOING WHAT IS RIGHT, and in honor of all he endured and all he accomplished), I wanted to share this quote that I found on Pinterest.

"CATTITUDE" Day! (National Attitude Day)

Hi all it's Cody! Mom and I heard that today is National Attitude Day. Well, we could NOT be happier about that! In our house EVERY DAY is "National Attitude Day and since I am a CAT, I much prefer that they name it "National CATTITUDE DAY!"

 To those who think that National Attitude Day  means you should celebrate the day by having  a GOOD attitude, let me tell ya this............YOU interpret and celebrate YOUR way, Mom and I will celebrate OUR WAY.  I AM A CAT, A CAT WITH CATTITUDE. Mom and I are kindred spirits, we see things the same. ..................there's no Pollyanna stuff goin' on around here. Good or bad we are ALWAYS gonna "keep it real."

Celebrating the Royal Wedding with the "Cat formerly known as Prince"

Hi all it's Cody and oh what a special day it is! Today Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting married!! When I was adopted my name was actually "Prince." My Mom calls me "the cat formerly known as Prince." 

I thought it was only fitting that since I started my life as a "prince" that I would celebrate this most wonderful and momentous occasion by posing in my Royal Prince Bed!

Hi all it's Cody!! Yes, yes, yes, I KNOW that ALL of you are going to say that cats should be respected EVERY DAY and YOU ARE RIGHT!!!  Respecting cats shouldn't be just one day a year at all, I couldn't agree more! But because March 28 is a historic day for me and my feline friends, today is the day that was designated as National Respect Your Cat Day because allegedly,

 on March 28, 1384, Richard II of England forbid the consumption of cats. Why anyone would want to eat a cat anyway is beyond me, but I digress...

So, in honor of this momentous occasion and as a reminder to my Mom EVERY DAY, here is a little somethin' somethin' which will hopefully get through to my Mom for something that SHE does that I take issue with,  AND make YOU laugh!!! My deepest apologies to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin for taking some liberties with the lyrics to RESPECT.

Kitties what kind of EXTRA respect do YOU need shown to YOU today!!! I know we are shown respect EVERY DAY by our humans, but we can always use MORE!!!
