Earth Day 2021: Restore Our Earth #EarthDay

Today is the 51st celebration of Earth Day!

From the Earth Day Website: Climate change and other environmental degradations have broken our natural systems, leading to new and fatal diseases as well as a breakdown of the global economy. But just as climate change and coronavirus painfully remind us of the harm we’ve caused, Restore Our Earth reminds us of the opportunities that lay ahead.

Every day on our walks Mom and I see beautiful things.  Plants,  trees and flowers, even bunnies and ducks. We must do our best to protect and restore our Earth so we can continue to enjoy the beauty that exists on all of our walks.  In honor of this most important day, I wanted to share some photos that Mom and I took on my regular morning walk in our complex this past Monday.

READY? HERE WE GO!!!

Mom loves willow trees. She said when she was a little girl (5 yrs old),  she used to stand under one in her backyard in Pittsburgh and sing "Johnny Angel." Mom is quite old, so if you aren't familiar with that song, you aren't old, if you DO know that song, my apologies!! BOL!

The two photos of the stream below are right near our condo. It is in our back courtyard. Dakota used to love to walk there with Mom, especially last Spring.  He met a nice lady named Ruthie who plants flowers and trees there. So far I haven't met Ruthie, but I am hoping to meet her soon!

"We must Restore Our Earth not just because we care about the natural world, but because we live on it. Every one of us needs a healthy Earth to support our jobs, livelihoods, health & survival, and happiness. A healthy planet is not an option — it is a necessity."

WE MUST ALL DO OUR PART!!

ONE WAY TO DO THAT IS TO
PICK UP YOUR POOP!!
(OR TRY TO EAT IT AS I AM KNOWN TO DO)

The photo above is one of MANY "Dog Stations" we have at our complex. Dakota used to get excited to visit them. I like to bark at them. You never know when some poop is going to try and escape and attack you, so you MUST bark at the poop so it doesn't jump out!!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!! Hoping you enjoyed this glimpse into my morning walk!!!! Have a happy Earth Day!!!

Sending you rowdy licks and love!!!

Earth Day 2020 (50th Anniversary)

"The theme for Earth Day 2020 is climate action. The enormous challenge — but also the vast opportunities — of action on climate change have distinguished the issue as the most pressing topic for the 50th anniversary."

"Climate change represents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity and the life-support systems that make our world habitable."

"Over the 24 hours of Earth Day, the 50th anniversary of Earth Day will fill the digital landscape with global conversations, calls to action, performances, video teach-ins and more."

"While Earth Day may be going digital, our goal remains the same: to mobilize the world to take the most meaningful actions to make a difference."

"Visit earthday.org on April 22 as we build an Earth Day unlike any other — We’re flooding the digital landscape with livestreamed discussions, a global digital surge, and 24 hours of actions that you can take, right now and from wherever you are."

FROM CAT CHAT WITH CAREN AND CODY:If there are any positives to come out of the Corona Virus nightmare, it is that the animals at Yellowstone are no longer hiding from people, they are resting in the roads and roaming freely. I have read that in California, (in the L.A area), you can actually SEE THE SKY instead of smog.......you can hear the birds.....I am sure there is less pollution in the oceans/rivers, etc. Out of any negative there is always a positive, we just have to look for it!

Clean up your act for Earth Day!

The above sunset photo was taken by me approximately a month or so ago. I used NO ENHANCEMENTS to the photo to alter the color whatsoever. I only added the quote.
