Our Lions CAN DO THIS!! #NFCChampionship #OnePride

Hi everyone! It's Roary! Mom wasn't going to post today because she is afraid of jinxing the Lions, but I told her that the past two games where MY face was featured, we WON!! That was enough to get my superstitious Mom to allow ME to put up a post!

Today our Detroit Lions will be battling the San Francisco 49'ers in the NFC Championship game. The winner will go to the Super Bowl!

The Lions have NEVER been to the Super Bowl and while it will be an incredible challenge, we are confident that our LIONS CAN DO THIS!!!

There are TWO good omens too....the first is they are playing at LEVI Stadium (sound familiar?) And....the band Journey is performing at half time. One of their verses in "Don't Stop Believing" is "born and raised in south DETROIT." And....Journey will be performing here in Detroit this July......we definitely aren't going to stop believing!!

The Lions are major underdogs undercats in this game, but we think that just might make them hungrier! GOOOO LIONS!

Unless you love San Francisco, please pray for us!!!

Love, Roary

Wishing My Lions Good Luck!!! #DetroitLions #NFCWildCardGame

Thank you Ann from Zoolatry
for this amazing graphic!

Hi furiends! As many of you know, I am named after the mascot of the Detroit Lions football team! We are both named "Roary!!"

Today is an exciting day! Our Detroit Lions are in their first playoff game in 30 years and the FIRST playoff game ever at Ford Field! I am so excited I can barely stand it!

Mom is excited too but has EXTREMELY mixed emotions. Mom is a huge Matthew Stafford fan (he is the quarterback for the L.A. Rams who we are competing against). He played with Detroit first for TWELVE YEARS!!! Mom was heartbroken when he left but was thrilled when he finally got his Super Bowl ring!

So while Mom and Dad will actually be AT the game cheering for their Lions, Mom  will be smiling when she sees Matthew Stafford return to the field of his FIRST "HOME." She will also be secretly smiling because she is going to wear her old Stafford Jersey under her Lions sweatshirt and doesn't care what ANYONE says! She also refuses to boo him when he takes the field!!

Soooooo Goooooooo Lions and may the best team win!!!! The nice part? Mom will be happy however this plays out!

More Magic Please!! Go Browns! #ClevelandWantsItMore

Well, since it worked last week when the Cleveland Browns had their first playoff win since 1994, so I'm trying it again this week!!!

You can see by the expression on my face that I mean business! I'm gonna be extra tough this week because it's GOING to be extra tough on our Browns this week as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional playoff game.

The Chiefs are the reigning Super Bowl Champions! NO ONE (including Mom) feels the Browns have any chance at all of beating the Chiefs, (wait, we heard a FEW talking heads on TV that think they COULD pull off a giant upset but it is highly doubtful),  but Miracles DO happen!

However it plays out, Mom will be happy because she is a huge fan of the Chief's quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. She thinks he is incredible, so she will be happy either way...but...she will be happiest if the Browns pull this off!!!

Here we go again!!!

Goooo Browns!!!!

Good Luck Cleveland Browns!!!! #WeWantMore

I'm putting the bitey on my Cleveland Browns ball to try and make them angry enough to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Browns first playoff appearance since 2002!!!!! (Mom has some serious doubts they will pull it off!)

Why am I barking for the Browns when I live in Michigan? Well, Mom lived in Cleveland for 35 years and the Browns were Mom's first football love, (more appropriately former Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Sipe was Mom's first football love)

.......and........I was born in OHIO!!! Let's not forget that "Dr. Smiley" is originally from Ohio too! (He lived down the street from Mom when he was a little boy!! They didn't find that out until Mom and Dad first met him when they stumbled into him at an emergency Vet when Angel Bobo had six kidney stones. Dr.Smiley recognized Mom's maiden name! Then, they found out he worked at the current Veterinary practice that they go to and they immediately started seeing "Dr.Smiley")

So, today we are putting our paws together for the Browns!!!

Mom said that photo is from the 80s before one of the Browns MANY heartbreaking playoff losses.....(Mom said what she wouldn't give to have that tiny tush again...but I digress!!)

Here's to hoping that the Browns don't have a National TV embarrassment (which if you are from Cleveland, you TOTALLY understand!!)

Gooooo Browns!

Detroit Lions:Crazy Cat Woman Makes Season Debut at Ford Field

Does this woman look familiar?

This woman is CRAZED!
RUN  LIKE THE WIND!!!

Today is the Detroit Lions home opener and of course Mom and Dad will be there. Now, rumor has it, she will NOT be wearing this because the Lions are already 0-2 and since Mom is a fair-weather fan, she has a MAJOR attitude (so what else is new?) about today's game. She isn't sure if she will be dressed as a miserable, "understated" Lions fan like this:

Or if she and Dad will be PROUD like THIS!!

Well, while Mom is off being whatever kind of a maniac she has dreamed up for this year, I will be doing this!!!

The Comeback Cats Got It Done!!! (Detroit Lions In London)

Wow!! What a game!!! My feline furiends, The Detroit Lions were in London yesterday playing the Atlanta Falcons, they were down 21-0 at halftime, and came ROARING back to beat the Falcons in the FINAL FOUR SECONDS to win 22-21 !!!

There was a lot of cursing, sighing, Mom covering her eyes,  all kinds of screaming and shouting throughout the game from Mom and Dad, but they DID it!!!

Safe Travels Home Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you need me, I am EXHAUSTED from having teleported to London to make sure they got the job done, and will be spending my Monday SNOOZING in my "Royal" bed!

The Lions are in London!!!

Hi and Happy Sunday my furiends! Oh this is an exciting day indeed!!! Mom and Dad are setting their alarms for 7am (why they have to do that when they have ME, I have no clue!) because the NFL (National Football League) is in London!!! Being of the feline purrsuasion, I would like to be the FIRST to thank London for their hospitality and enthusiasm!!!! I hear that NFL Football is super popular there!

The Detroit Lions ( MY TEAM!!)  and The Atlanta Falcons will be playing in Wembley Stadium today, in Michigan the game will start at 9:30am and the pre-game starts at 8am!!!! That is EARLY for football!!!

Mom and Dad are huge football fans and are super excited! Mom is gonna make a big breakfast and we are gonna watch football in the morning and be all cozy!!! It is late right now, so I better get some sleep, I have to be sure I wake Mom and Dad up before their alarm goes off so they don't miss the game! How does waking them up at about 5am sound?

I have one question:

Gooooooooooooooooooooo Lions!!!

Are you ready for some Football? FELINE Football, that is! Hallmark Style! #HeartofTV

Today marks the OFFICIAL start to my Mom and Dad's most FAVORITE sport of the year! The start of the National Football League (NFL) !! I have been known to watch a game or two, or three...well, you get it....myself!! Kitties, did you know that:

The 2014 NFL season, is the 95th season in the history of the National Football League (NFL)!! It begins TONIGHT with the annual kickoff game featuring the defending Super Bowl Champions Seattle Seahawks hosting the Green Bay Packers.  (Mom is an avid Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions fan, she and Dad have season tickets to the Lions! So we don't care about Seattle or Green Bay, but we know our furiend Mario is a HUGE Green Bay fan! So we send he and his family a huge meow-out!)

‘KITTEN BOWL II’

Hallmark Channel proudly announces the inauguration of the first-ever Feline Football League (FFL), featuring the world’s most adorable, playful and adoptable kittens. The kittens will participate in season games for the chance to claw their way to the end zone in the 2nd annual classic, “Kitten Bowl II,” premiering Su-purr Bowl Sunday 2015. Which is Feb. 1, 2015!!!!! Super Bowl XLIX will take place  at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., home to the Arizona Cardinals.

Beginning this November, an FFL Scouting Combine will search for the most competitive, adorable and adoptable feline players before holding an exciting kitten draft. Once the draft has been announced, kittens will be placed into teams of their own colors, logos and mascots where viewers can follow regular season game highlights across Hallmark Channel’s digital and social networks — all leading up to the broadcast of the championship of feline football, “Kitten Bowl II.”

The FFL brings adorable—and adoptable!—kittens together with celebrities and personalities from all facets of the entertainment world as the kittens compete on obstacle courses filled with lures such as yarn balls, lasers and toys on string. “Kitten Bowl II” is part of Hallmark Channel’s corporate initiative “Pet Project,” a movement dedicated to celebrating pets and the incredible joy they bring to our lives.  The FFL and “Kitten Bowl II” will significantly raise awareness of the plight of shelter animals across the country as Hallmark Channel once again partners with North Shore Animal League America, who will provide the feline competitors with forever loving homes once the games conclude.

“Kitten Bowl II” will be executive produced by JD Roth, Todd Nelson, Adam Kaloustian, Brant Pinvidic and Jesse Drollette of Eyeworks USA (previously 3 Ball Productions) whose credits include “The Biggest Loser” (NBC), “Extreme Weight Loss” (ABC) and “My Cat From Hell” (Animal Planet), among others.

Monday Morning Quarterback:Bridget the cat intercepts Matthew Stafford passes

Saw this on the news the other day and loved it! Bridget the cat is trying to intercept the passes of the quarterback of the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford....(this game was played a couple of weeks ago when the Lions made an epic comeback against the Dallas Cowboys betting them 31-30 with just seconds left in the game!)

I think it is hilarious! If Cody tried that with our TV my husband would lose his mind!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DETROIT LIONS on sitting happily in first place, all alone in the NFC NORTH....let's hope it stays that way!

"Are You Ready For Some Football???"

Cats in football helmets? Football on a cat blog?  "Why?" Because we feel sorry for our friends in Minnesota, that's why!

The roof at the Metrodome where the Minnesota Vikings were scheduled to play the New York Giants today at 1pm, has collapsed!!!

Being a cat with clout I was able to playwith pull some strings and the game will now be played in Detroit at Ford Field (Home of the Detroit Lions and is a nice and cozy domed cat house) this Monday, December 13th, at 7 (or 7:30pm....

Lions=felines which=cats which=cat blogs (huh?) which is what this is and I live in the Detroit area, hence the importance of this post!

We hope that a lot of our friends from Minnesota (Angie from Catladyland are you listening??) will be able to make it!

Safe travels and welcome to
The "D!!!"
