UPDATE to the post "Kitties! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hi my furiends!!! It's Cody! I have something super impawtant to tell you!!!

Remember back on July 5th when I was hissing about having received an email from the Vet saying it was time for my vaccines and I asked you to help?  Well, you sure did!!! Mom and "Dr.Smiley" discussed my vaccine issue and I couldn't be happier! I ONLY have to have my rabies vaccine and THAT won't be until SEPTEMBER!!!!! (I will have my wellness visit at the same time!)

I thank you my kitty furiends and I thank your humans too for all of their input!!!  You saved me!!!

But....while my vaccines were being discussed, it was discovered that someone else had to get in for one of their vaccines............

BUSTED!!!

and not only did Dakota have to go to the Vet on July 8th for his rabies shot, he has to go back on July 25th for ANOTHER shot AND he is going back to the groomer (which is attached to the Vet)...on July 29th!!!

VICTORY IS MINE!!!
(for now)

  2. Haha - great idea to send the dog to Dr. Smiley (shudder. What a name! Does s/he really believe we'd be fooled??) to keep humans occupied and economy flowing!

    1. "Dr.Smiley" is a "he" and that isn't his real name :) Actually, we ADORE "Dr.Smiley" and he knows it and he knows we just make fun of him a little bit here..........we LOVE HIM!!!! He is the best Vet we could ever hope to have! :)

  8. Cody, they know that cats do not metabolize immunization shots the same way as dogs and humans, but not enough research has been done yet to change the mindset...or laws. Someday, the need for shots may be a thing of the past

  9. Cody...I am so glad your Vet listened to reason. Mom was so desperate for Admiral not to have the full amount of shots and the Vet kept insisting, that mom said she'd just give him the money for the other shots and not get anything but the rabies. It made the vet hacked at her. It just slipped out of mom's mouth as she was trying hard not to make poor Admiral go through all of those as they made her so sick. Admiral wound up with them all as it was all or nothing with that guy.

  13. Well, Dakota doesn't mind going to the vet. So it's no big deal when he does. I also don't think he'll gloat when you have to go either. I'm just saying.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥♥♥

  14. Woohoo! We are so happy for you, Cody! Unfortunately, both Thimble and Eddy are coming due for their dates with the doctor in the next couple of weeks. And there's no getting out of it for them. Dakota, you are too cute, and I wish we could all look that happy when going to the doctor's office.

I am always a bit confuse with the name of vaccine in english...
I thought that in your countrie, vaccines were supposed to be every 3 years.

    1. some are every three years....Cody was supposed to have his rabies shot (which he will still have in Sept), and I think one or two other ones, that because he is 10 yrs old, the Vet thinks they may no longer be necessary. xoxo

  17. At least our vet is not shot happy as some of them are...and he listens to petcretary an sometimes even agrees! I don't care for going there though...dog-guy used to love it like Dakota, but lately he is like Mikey...he hates evfurrything! MOL!

Glad you were able to convince your Dr Smiley not to give all of them.
Petcretary knows a Dr Smiley too...but he is an oncologist...for peeps:)

    1. Our Vet isn't either, I didn't have to convince him. I broached the subject with him and for me, the ultimate decision was his. (and I am THRILLED with it!) Oh his name isn't really "Dr.Smiley" I just call him that for purposes of the blog, we ADORE HIM!! xoxo

  19. I'll be getting that dreaded postcard soon. I'm due for my annual rabies vaccine the end of August. I'm glad you and your vet are on the same page about vaccines.

  20. That's great, Cody! We only get rabies shots too.

  24. Thanks for sharing your decision. I'm sure many of us will be second thinking the other inoculations. Will Cody be getting senior blood work with his wellness exam now that he's 10?
I just hate how time flies...

    1. Hi Maggie! You are welcome!! Yep, Cody will be having senior blood work done in September as well, and I neglected to mention that "Dr.Smiley" said he wants to see him TWICE a year now since he is a senior. So he will be going in September and March. I hate how time flies too, it seems like I just adopted him yesterday. :(
