National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week! November 4th through the10th

Hi everyone it's Cody!

As many of you know I was adopted. Mom adopted me from a Rescue that held an adoption event at Petco back in 2007.

My Mom always says that my foster Mom did an amazing job with me! My foster Mom says I was BORN a loving "cuddle-bug". Mom thinks that could easily be true, but the care and nurturing that was given to me to help give me a good start in life helped lay the groundwork to help make me the great kitty that I am today!

To all who give of themselves so tirelessly to help Shelter Animals and Rescue, we give our heartfelt THANKS!!

  4. Great video. We totally agree with you too. The shelters sure should get a gigantic thank you for all the good work that they do for the animals and it makes it so much easier for the animals to find homes.

  6. Oh Cody you cuddle-bug you! This is a subject that's also close to my Mom's heart as well since she adopted me from a shelter almost 13 years ago. We think everyone who works in shelters and with rescues are HEROES. You and I were lucky - and we hope when people are looking to add to their animal family they visit their local shelter FIRST. We ALL want happy homes!

    Big smiles all around here.

I was adopted too, Cody! From a Petsmart event. I don't know if I had a foster family or not...but I threw on the charm so the nice Gloman guy with the deep voice would bring me home to his girl.

  26. I was adopted the year before you only I wasn't frostered and that made a HUGE difference. Seems I was never really socialized until I got here. As anyone reading my blog knows, I still have issues although I've come a long way. The peeps say they'll never adopt another cat who hasn't been frostered. BTW, I had to watch the Hurricane Sandy concert On Demand because we lost our power 4 minutes into the show on Friday.

  27. @CK, I was also adopted quite young (only about 10 weeks) which definitely helped. You have come a HUGELY long way and I have known you for quite some time now. At least you were able to see the concert, even if it was later and that is a good thing!

  28. I was adopted from a Petsmart (kinda the same thing as you) My mom got hitted by a car and a lady resuced me and my sister Valentine and fed us from little bottles till we got older. Now I am grown up and am so happy to have my mom and dad and brofurs.

  30. Cloon's Human: Wonderful post! It is awesome that Cody is such a cuddler and that he ended up in such a fantastic home. Clooney apparently bounced from foster home to foster home during the six months he was with the rescue however, he still came to me full of trust and as a huge love-bug which I am truly thankful for.

  31. Hi Cody and hi to your human, Caren,

Such an important message and I so wish more humans would think about adopting my precious animal friends. Thank you for this and I will share it via the various social networks.

Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses, Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! xx

  33. Reading all of the comments above and it warms my heart to see how many of our furry blogging friends are rescues. One of my cats turned up as a stray, five are from a feral mama that brought them to our yard and the kitten, a foster from the shelter, may be joining our family.

Shelters do a fabulous job and deserve all the support we can give.
