Thankful Thursday:Unboxing Secret Paws Gifts (Boxing Day and National Thank You Note Day)

Hi my furiends!! It's Cody pawing out the blog today! Well the long wait is OVER!!!! Today is the day that I am going to reveal the most pawesome gifts that I received from the incredibly STUNNING (and brilliant and kind), Cathy Keisha and TW (who we call "Mom").

Mom, Dakota and I opened our gifts on Christmas (oh yes we did!) because I thought it was appropriate to blog about it on Thursday, which happens to be Boxing Day and National Thank You Note Day! (Technically a hand-written note should be written, but we think a blog post is equally as good in this case!) It's the purrfect day to express our immense gratitude!

Ok my furiends, sit back and relax while I show you all of the goodies!

As you know, when the box arrived we all were so excited!

CK and TW had some lovely cards that I was excited to read:

But I just couldn't control my excitement and I wanted to see what was in that box!

When I peeked inside I found a beautiful kitty bag

Inside that adorable bag were wonderfully wrapped presents!!

Ok so I opened a few before Mom took the photo! Give me a break, I was excited!

CK has known me for my entire ten years of blogging, (she has been blogging ten years too and if you aren't familiar with her blog it is named after HER! It is Stunning Keisha and you MUST visit!) CK is a kitty with a lot of street smarts and general life smarts. She is insightful and she writes quite well. Her intelligence  just shines through her blog posts and she would never admit it, but she is also a sensitive kitty. Caring too. I knew since CK has known me so long, she would pick out gifts that would make me purr! She most definitely made me purr!

There were some little toys that I could swat around, a few of them were from the fabulous Catlady Box, and one of them had "World's Cutest Kitty" printed on it. Yep, that would be ME!!!

There was also a cool Tipsy Nip Pickle (I had one many years ago but could no longer find it, so I was thrilled to get another one!) but I think my FAVORITE gift of all came from Meowijuana!!! It was their Catnip Spliff with catnip and valerian root and I went NUTS when Mom let me open it!!! You can see in the short video below:

When it comes to Meowijuana I don't mess around, that's for sure!!! Mom said she was so happy because I don't play as much as I used to, and when she opened that toy I played like a kitten! In fact, all of that playing gave me the munchies. Thankfully CK had me covered!!! She had gotten me Party Mix too! (That CK thought of EVERYTHING!! But then again, that's how she rolls!!)

 I had so many fun toys and I am so grateful!!

After all of that playing and eating it dawned on me that I hadn't opened EVERYTHING yet! I went back to scope out the box

Sure enough, I had missed two presents! There was one for Mom and one for Dakota too! Wait til you see what Mom got! OMC!!

That is NOT a rug but it is quite large! You know what that is? It's a GORGEOUS  scarf from Cat Lady Box!!!! Mom nearly died! She LOVES IT!! The photos don't do it justice, it's even prettier in pawson!

The colors are just beautiful, it is like artwork on a scarf!!!! Mom is just so excited and practically cried when she opened it. Mom thought it was sooo thoughtful of CK and TW to give her such a beautiful scarf. She is crazy about it!

Speaking of thoughtful, there was even an adorably wrapped present for Dakota!!!

Dakota kept staring at it because he couldn't believe that he was lucky enough to receive a gift!! Many of you know Dakota is getting up there (Mom says "God-willing he will be 13 on February 28th, I will be 13 April 1st, but for kitties it's not usually as bad as it can be for a 13 year old woofie), and he is having some issues. He doesn't hear as well as he used to, he doesn't play like he used to and doesn't even smile as much as he used to. He is still having some blood pressure issues but Mom is convinced (because they fluctuate so much), that it is white coat syndrome, (we truly think so!). Anyway, things have been tense with his issues, and everyone has been worried, so we are so grateful and happy that CK and TW thought of Dakota too. Boy oh boy, CK and TW said they had never bought a dog a gift before, but wow did they ever pick a good one!

It's the cutest stuffed Beaver from a place we never knew existed. It is from AKC Select (we know AKC obviously, but we never knew there was a line of toys! Leave it to a smart kitty like CK to figure that one out!) It is so cute and it squeaks!

It is just the cutest!!! Mom tried to get some good pictures but Dakota has a tendency of taking off the second he senses Mom wants to take photos of him.  A super cool thing that happened was a few hours after Mom took photos, Dakota went over to the beaver on his own and started running around the room with it. That made Mom and Dad soooo happy! CK and TW Dakota LOVES IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

So there you go my furiends! Mom, Dakota and I cannot thank CK and TW enough for their incredibly thoughtful and generous gifts!!! They are just the best! Taking part in Secret Paws is ALWAYS fun, but it is extra fun when your Secret Paws is a kitty and human that you have been furiends with for 10 years and have admired just as long. CK is one of my first blogging furiends and it just made this extra, extra special. They touched my furry heart and Mom is just over the moon! Dakota too!

The Secret Paws Gifts from Cody and I

Hi All! Well, since we didn't get our invite to post on the Secret Paws blog,  we just decided to post here. We sent our packages out I believe the Monday after Thanksgiving (yep for us that's unheard of!)

Also,  those of you who have received gifts from us in the past know that we normally order from places that will wrap for us, (yeah, we can be lazy sometimes lol), BUT NOT THIS YEAR! NOPE! We wrapped our gifts, each and every one of them! (I should say, I wrapped them, Cody didn't feel like helping AT ALL this year MOL).

We hadn't heard from our recipient letting us know they received their package (and they don't blog regularly), soooooo...thankfully last week I went to their Facebook page and asked them. I didn't blow the surprise because the Mom had opened our card and saw it was from us, but they are waiting til Christmas (I think), to open their gifts which is great. Cody and I are just happy/relieved they arrived and weren't stolen by some kitty pirate package snatchers. When we didn't receive an email telling us they arrived we were quite concerned.

With Love and Enormous Gratitude! Our Secret Paws 2018 Reveal

Today it is with pleasure and enormous gratitude that Cody and I are going to reveal the most PAWESOME Secret Paws presents from a family of the most special kitties ever!!

Before we do that, we would like to once again thank Miss Paula of Sweet Purrfections for her patience and hard work organizing this fun event and for matching every kitty up. That's a lot of hard work!

Now....first.........we would like to announce that our Secret Paws pals were some of the cutest kitties (and the most thoughtful kitties EVER!) from the adorable blog: Tomcat Commentary by Tim

Cody and I were BOTH excited when the box arrived last week. I had to wait a day for Cody to open it because he was sleeping and I wanted his FULL attention!

I was blown away when I opened the box and saw that EACH AND EVERY GIFT was wrapped (not like MY lazy self) and each one had a little gift tag attached because EACH kitty gave Cody a gift! That was the most generous and THOUGHTFUL thing ever! (I wish I had thought to take a photo of all of the wrapped gifts together, but I neglected to do that and I apologize.)

I don't remember the order of the gifts that Cody opened except for the first one, the first one he opened was from Miss Fitz:

Cody received that darling Zebra kicker!!!! Thank you!!

The next gift(s) that Cody opened were such an ENORMOUS hit that I wish I had saved them to open last. They were from Timmy Tomcat himself!

Cody loved (LOVES) these so much that he wasn't as focused on the other gifts because he was OBSESSED with these!!! In the last photo you can see he was getting a tad "high" from the catnip, so much so that I edited the following photo to show just how "buzzed" he was!

See what I mean? Cody was in catnip heaven!!!

The next HUGE HIT came from Toby. Not only was Cody crazy about these toys but I was too! Why? On one side there were mice and the other side of the package had these cute little things that Cody could swat all over the place, TWO TYPES OF TOYS in one package! I had never seen anything like that and I thought it was BRILLIANT! Cody liked the things you swat around so much that it was the first time in a LONG time that I had the joy of witnessing this almost 12 year old kitty acting like a kitten! It made me so happy!

Cody is such a lucky kitty!! He was totally smitten with the next gifts that came from Buddy and Rumpy.

In one present were TWO of Cody's all time favorites! Temptations and MICE!!!! Let me tell you he was one happy kitty!!

Because we often call my husband "Einstein" due to his uncanny resemblance, my husband was particularly enamored with the next gift that came from, none other than EINSTEIN!!!

We haven't tried this out yet but I promised Cody that soon we will! He loves wand toys (especially with feathers) and we will have a blast with this!!

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!!

I even had a wrapped gift!

It was from Dad Pete and look at what was inside!!

How DELICIOUSLY THOUGHTFUL is that????

I can't thank Dad Pete and the kitties enough for the most FUN and THOUGHTFUL GIFTS EVER!!! I don't get Cody and Dakota gifts for the holidays anymore so you made him one HAPPY KITTY!!!!

Cody is soooooo happy that he insisted on pawing all of you a special thank you note just from him!!!!

Ok, so Cody is right, I AM a "slacker!" Last year I mailed at the deadline (I think) and had a miserable time getting a street address (because I had gone to FedEx to mail my package) and no way was that going to happen this year. So, yep, I took the easy way out and ordered our Secret Paws items online AND had Amazon WRAP THEM and ship them! Easy Peasy!! I am pretty certain some "kitties" (yep, that's a clue!) are going to love their gifts regardless!! Enjoy!!

My Secret Paws Reveal!!!

Hi furiends! It's Cody! Before I get to the "big reveal" of who Secret Paws was and the amazing prezzies that I received, Mom and I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Mom Paula of Sweet Purrfections for all of the hard work she does each and every year matching us with our Secret Paws, giving us shipping tips and so much more! Mom and I have pawticipated in a few Secret Paws, we missed last year and we regretted it, but this year we are back!

When my Secret Paws box arrived I could not wait to get into it!

Everything was so nicely wrapped! I didn't know what to go to first but Mom said it was impawtant to read my card first. She said that is the polite thing to do, that one should ALWAYS read the card first. Mom said how in the world would I know who everything was from if I didn't read the card first? (Mom is actually not that bright cause I could have opened everything and THEN read the card, I still would have known who sent everything...but I digress).

Mom got all teary-eyed because the card I received was personal and they also included Chanukah on the card which Mom thought was extremely thoughtful.

If you look closely you can see who my presents were from, can you see? Wait! I will make sure that you can see!!!

Now you can see it for sure!!!! It was from Real Cats Paisley & Webster from The Cuddlywumps Cat Chronicles!!!  I was sooo excited and so happy! I love Paisley & Webster and let me tell ya, they REALLY know how to pawchase the best gifts! (One in particular you will see on a future blog post because Mom wants to devote an entire post to it.). Here are some photos of what I received!

Mom says I was super interested in that adorable stocking and of course the treats! I'm all about treats!

Let's see, there were some cat nip toys, (Mom thinks the blue mouse is adorable), catnip joints (don't worry, I won't inhale....much...) and, after those joints there are TONS AND TONS of cat treats for when I have the munchies!!

See the red blanket that everything is on? That is a really cozy blanket/mat with a pouch to put catnip in! Mom immediately put it on the armrest of the couch where I like to sit when I watch TV with Mom, but she forgot to take a photo. (Hopefully I can have her take a photo soon!)

This is another shot of all my goodies!!! I just might get into those joints on New Years Eve, we will see!!

I want to give a HUGE thank you to Real Cats Paisley and Webster and to their Mom for helping them select these most pawesome prezzies!! Mom and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! You made us both so happy! We love you and we hope the prezzies you get from your Secret Paws are as pawtastic as the ones you got me!

Truffles, Heaven's Newest Angel Cat

Dear Melissa,

Mom and I have broken hearts.We cannot believe sweet Truffles is gone. It's not fair. It's not right. Mom remembers when she first connected with you in 2013 and you told her that meeting me gave you hope you could have another kitty to love after your beloved Tara passed. (A mere two weeks before you and Mom spoke on Facebook.)

You had mentioned you were scouring Petfinder in search of a special kitty.

You found her.

You named her  "Truffles".

Truffles filled your life (and ours) with love. She was the best Secret Paws a kitty could ever hope to have, and an even better friend.

 I was lucky that I was the kitty that she gave gifts to last Christmas and that she sent me a special photo on Valentine's Day.

Truffles read many, many books and did wonderful interviews.

Our lives will never be the same.

We share in your heartbreak.

We pray that Tara and Mom's Angel Bobo are  taking good care of Truffles in Heaven.

 We guess God just needed another kitty angel.

He sure picked a good  one, but much too soon.

We wish he had waited. We are so deeply sorry.
