Love Your Pet Day!

 Yes, yes,  I know it's EVERY DAY but today was designated as "Love Your Pet Day." A day to pamper and spoil your pets (as if we don't do that EVERY DAY), and to appreciate the time we have with them. I love my boys so much,  even if much of the time they drive me crazy!

Roary is such an intelligent and interesting cat. If you snap your fingers (literally), he comes running. Loves to carry his toys in his mouth (neither of my other cats ever did that). He's an expert at opening drawers and closets and knows exactly where certain toys are hidden in those drawers! He loves going on top of the shower. He is obsessed with the dishwasher. He adores teasing the living daylights out of Levi (and seems to nap all day just to drive Levi crazy when Levi goes to bed in his crate at night.). He "talks" a blue streak.. Prefers sleeping in boxes rather than a cat bed. He is loving and likes to cuddle...if he's in the mood.

Levi is our BIGGEST challenge. Stubborn, determined with the strength of an ox he continues to help Lenny and I add gray hair to our already gray hair!!!! He's super intelligent, rather high anxiety (at times), extremely food motivated and feels that every single human being that was put on this earth is here for the sole purpose of giving him kisses and petting. He LOVES people (unless they are trying to bathe him!!) He likes to be our shadow and is one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever known. THAT is what saves him!

Valentine's Day 2025 (Love is In the Air!!)

 Valentine's Day is definitely in the air around our house!! A few weeks ago Levi bought a Valentine's cookie for his girlfriend at Canine College, Sadie!! Then, Sadie bought one for him!! Levi and Sadie have been an "item" for some time now. Levi is definitely smitten!!

Sadie is the large Shepherd mix with the curled tail. The photos aren't good because I took them from the camera while I was watching him at Canine College !

Then, poor Roary is still looking for a girlfriend! Anyone interested?

Last but definitely not least, I want to wish my husband Lenny a most wonderful Valentine's Day!!! I love you, hang in there, this is one bumpy (or should I say "lumpy" ride???? Bad joke I know!) Love you always!!!!

Happy 4th Gotcha Day to our most loving, determined, stubborn, brilliant, cuddly, challenging, quirky and oh so cherished and spoiled, Levi! Levi’s favorite things are:following the staff at Canine College relentlessly (we actually think he thinks he works there!), Milk Bones, KONGS filled with cheese and bacon, our postal carrier, Natural Farm Bully Sticks, hamburgers, wrestling with Sadie at Canine College, BARKING, his groomer, Misty, (but he hates baths!!), he loves kissing Daddy, his private walks with Mommy, his brother Roary and ANYONE who fawns over him. Levi definitely has a mind of his own! Levi is beyond affectionate to those he loves and knows well and he is fiercely protective! Levi truly gives us the most unconditional love and we are blessed to have him!! Happy Gotcha Day my crazy boy!!

A Walktober Post In November!

 I was reading my friend Dawn's post about Walktober (and how she wants people to share posts and photos taken while walking our dogs in October) and it reminded me I hadn't put anything together at all!

Levi and I walk every morning, but rarely do I take any photos! I use my phone for all photos and since we usually just walk around our apartment/condo complex I leave my phone at home.

Thankfully, one day I didn't!

Here are just a few shots from one of  our Walktober morning jaunts!

Yes the post would have been far more attractive had I posted each photo separately, but lazy me just wanted to get the post done! Oh you see the baby deer at the top? He was right in our back courtyard when Levi and I returned from our walk!

The colors were spectacular this past October, Fall is definitely my favorite season!

National Dog Day and Long Overdue Playdate Photos!

 Hi everyone! Today is National Dog Day and Levi and I would like to take this time to wish all of our doggy friends a super happy day!!! (We wish the kitties a happy day too since every day is THEIR day lol)

Back at the end of June I had the pleasure of meeting a long time blogging friend in person, as well as her darling dog Penny!!!!! The lovely woman I met is Dawn King and I will link to her blog below!

Levi, and Dawn's beautiful Sheltie, Penny, had a play date back at the end of June. Both were hesitant at first (cause that's how Shelties roll), but soon adorable Penny and her mischievous ways got Levi to have some fun! Nearly all of the playdate photos were taken by Dawn who is a MUCH better photographer than I am!

Family Friday: Meet Levi's Talented Sister, Tango!

 Hi everyone! This is Levi and today I want to share a photo of my most talented FULL sister, Tango! (She was born in a litter approximately a couple of years after me, but we have the exact same parents!)

My first human Mom (Sue from Greyfyre Shelties), has trained Tango so well and Tango is soooo smart that she keeps winning TONS of obedience awards! Just look at her with her ribbons!

"This is Tango, a full sibling of Levi. She's my obedience partner and just two years old. We are showing in AKC Rally shows. She's very close to her Rally championship. She's smarter than me by far and does much better than I do as I make many mistakes in the ring! Tango and I go for daily walks when not going to training. I'm Sue, I bred both Tango and Levi's litter. Levi has the same demeanor and look as his wonderful mother, Myka, Here is their incredible mother, Myka, out playing with an infant Tango"

We are posting for Thanksgiving a day early because the humans will be attending the Lions game on Thanksgiving...and.......we know many of you will be busy!!! Happy 3rd Gotcha Day Levi!!!!!!!! (He was "Gotted" November 21st, 2020)

 Happy 3rd Gotcha Day to our super smart, super loving, super BIG, super stubborn, super cuddly and super crazy Levi “Rowdy”!! We survived 3 years !!!

In all seriousness you are the most affectionate boy we could ever hope to have, you definitely keep life exciting and keep us on our toes!!! We love you to pieces!!!!

There is a saying that goes "You don't always get the dog you want, but you get the dog that you need."(Cesar Millan) Levi has been a challenge and I guess that someone felt that my husband and I DEFINITELY needed a challenge!

LEVI DOESN'T LIKE:

• When I stir eggs
• When I add seasoning to food
• Going to the groomer (he acts like the biggest baby and tries to run after me whimpering and crying when I am dropping him off, once he has his bath and blow dry he is FINE. It is the ONLY place where he acts like that.)
• ANYONE walking in our hallway
• ANYONE walking outside that he can see from our window
• When my husband sneezes
• When my husband's phone rings
• The remote control
• Hot weather

LEVI LOVES:

• His Daddy. His Mommy. Roary.
• His beloved bully sticks!
• His girlfriend Sadie at Canine College (Sadie is a German Shepherd mix who has one ear that goes up and one that goes down. She is large and crazy like Levi lol. He follows her EVERYWHERE.)

A Belated Birthday and Bark/Meow Like a Pirate Day!

 Ahoy Mateys!!!

'tis "Gorton Zayne alias "Ruthless Toes"  'n I 'ave a bone t' pick!! Me THIRD BIRTHDAY was this past Sunday, September 17th 'n me Mom NE'ER BLOGGED ABOUT IT!! Why? 'cause she 'n Cap'n went t' the football game!! Where was I? I was BOARDIN' at me daycare!! THE NERVE!!

Thankfully me hearties at Canine College made sure that I had a most fantastic time!! They gave me tons o' kisses 'n they took photos o' me!

I had the BEST time gettin' humped by me new scallywag Mocha. This scallywag was literally all o'er me every single chance he got! At first I was mighty angry, but then...I kinda grew t' like it 'n Mocha 'n I had become fast mateys by the time I left t' go home on Sunday. Canine College even mentioned Mocha on me boardin' report card!

I 'ave t' say when Mom 'n Cap'n came t' pick me up aft the football game, Mom was showerin' me wit' kisses 'n kept singin' happy birthday t' me! She made me me fav'rit cheese stuffed bone TWO DAYS IN A ROW 'n yesterday she made me a HAMBURGER!!

I guess feelin' guilty be a GOOD thing 'cause me birthday celebration be goin' on 'n on!!! I know Mom 'n Cap'n love me sooo much that I guess I can cut 'em some slack since the Lions game fell on me birthday this year, it's worth it if me birthday celebration continues!

Well scallywags, I be off t' continue celebratin' me third birthday! Ye 'ave a great Bark/Meow like a Pirate Day 'n enjoy the Pirate photo that Angel Puddy made fer Angel Cody many years ago! Love ye hearties!

My 2nd Birthday Was Pawtastic!

 

Hi everyone! It's Levi and I just wanted to thank you all for my birthday greetings on the 17th! I had a most pawsome birthday!!

Mom went to my school (Canine College) in the morning and bought me scrumptious cookies (see photos) and a bag of birthday cookie treats!

I got tons of treats ALL DAY! Anytime I wanted them!

I also got tons of kisses from Mom and Dad all day!

At night Mom made me my first hamburger (she chopped it up and only gave me half with my kibble because I am not used to human food.) It was delicious!

Then I chewed on my beloved bully stick.

It was a most pawtastic birthday!

You Made It Levi!!!!! (and we did TOO!) HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY!!!!

 

Once upon a time, TWO years ago today, a certain Sheltie was born. His original name was "Robbie". He was the FIRST born of his litter, he was the LARGEST of the litter, and I am pretty certain, the CRAZIEST of the litter!

No longer a puppy, Levi is now a full-fledged doggy!!!!! (No longer can any of us use the excuse, "well, he's STILL just a PUPPY!!) Levi's physical appearance is regal and simply magnificent.

Levi is super confident, bold and can be impulsive and brash. He doesn't watch where he's going. He will literally jump OVER me while I am sitting on the couch, (he will run and leap like a deer right over me!)  He stands like a monument when you want to go around him (I often say he should have "wide load emblazoned on his rear end). He often gets a bad rap. He greatly prefers PEOPLE to other dogs, but occasionally a dog will catch his eye that is more active and mischievous and that will be the one he will engage in a good game of chase with.

We later found out his name is actually "Rocky!"

Overall, Levi is OBSESSED with people. (Ask the staff at Canine College who one of their biggest "shadows" is and I am pretty certain they will say Levi.) If there is poop to be picked up, he will happily follow whoever is picking it up!!

 that's why he may bark and jump at people whom he encounters, (he has gotten better about that but sometimes he just gets carried away). Because he has a deep bark and is larger than most Shelties, he sometimes makes some people a little nervous. Dogs can sense if someone is afraid or if they just don't like dogs, and a dog will react accordingly. (and often not in the most positive way)

While Levi is a rather anxious dog some of the time, he DOES possess the ability to relax and "chill" and is doing that more and more since he has gotten older. Levi is also exceptionally loving. He is a MAJOR CUDDLER!!!

I will say there is never a dull moment with Levi around, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Today, in honor of his birthday his Daddy and I will drive him over to Canine College's Bark Shop to pick out a special dessert and I will be making him either a special hamburger for dinner, or a doggy meatloaf (not sure yet!)

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY to my CRAZY, LOVING, SILLY, "SASSY", BRILLIANT AND WILD SHELTIE BOY!!! Daddy and I LOVE YOU!! (Roary does too, but in his own strange way!)
