Exercise Your Prerogative to VOTE!

Here is an editorial cartoon my father did back in 1980 when he was the Editorial Cartoonist at The Plain Dealer that IS STILL APPLICABLE today......no matter WHO you are voting for, make SURE you exercise your prerogative to VOTE  and if you don't, don't complain.

  1. My human and her boyfriend are going to the polls together! There was early voting, but the lines were, like, a 5 hour wait. So they decided to do it on the actual election day because the polling place in our neighborhood is usually pretty chill.

    1. My Mom and Dad went this morning at around 9:30am. Right after the "going to work" crowd. Just a little bit of a line, all of the booths were taken. Paws crossed now.

  7. I was surprised that there was no line, but almost every voting booth was occupied. I walked right up to mark my ballot, but it was HUGE! Wished I'd taken one of the booths with a table and chair.

    1. We had a line but not a super long one, but we went at 9:30am which is kind of an "off" time. Every booth was occupied at mine too, I DID get the table and chair one, LOVED it!

  10. Nice cartoon.
That's what my human always says. Some people don't vote, and after they keep on complaining. They have no right to complain. They have to vote or to ... shut up !

    1. Yay about voting! Bloggers think that WE have it tough! My Dad was brilliant...he had to come up with TWELVE cartoons a day (for the editorial dept to pick just ONE for the next day)...he did this for 30 years. He won numerous awards! Editorial Cartoonists have a HARD job!

    1. I agree. I am sick to my stomach. Trump didn't invent "hate crimes" but he has created a space where hatred of ANY minority is not only accepted, it is considered to be "normal." He is giving his followers "permission" to hate (as well as to attack) anyone who is different. I am afraid Civil Rights is going to take many, many steps backward. I will NOT respect that man.

  21. Petcretary says she can grumble all she wants...and that is because as a non-citizen she cannot vote...
Sometimes she wishes she could exercise her opinion that way, however not at this time...
She snorts just a wee bit at those peeps who say they want to move to Canada...she just tells them the line about the grass being greener on the other side of the fence. Canada is no bed of roses either...
At least the sun still came up today and we are sure it will continue to rise each day:)
...no matter who we voted for, or where we live.
