It's Summer and for this Kitty the Livin' is Easy!

Hi my furiends! The Summer Solstice officially arrived in the Eastern Time Zone at exactly 11:54 am !! Today will be the LONGEST day of 2019 for anyone living north of the equator.


It wouldn't be the first day of Summer without me repeating the song that I first posted on Cat Chat on June 21st 2010, (it was called "Cat Chat" back then), it has now become our little tradition...Enjoy!

This should be Meowed or sung to the tune of Mungo Jerry's classic "In The Summertime".......

A Day Purrfect for Catnip! #NationalSelfieDay #SummerSolstice #TakeYourCatToWorkDay

Hi Kitties! It's Cody and OMC there are so many things going on today that my head is SPINNING (and I am not even nipped-out yet!).  I am going to have to indulge in some MAJOR nip just to deal with all that is going on today!

First, the Summer solstice begins in the Northern Hemisphere at 6:07 am (EST). Mom and I aren't huge fans of summer, but we know many of you are! You might just want to read my tribute to summer that has appeared on the blog a  number of times!

Today is also National Selfie Day  .  I think that doesn't require ANY explanation.  National Selfie Day, a day for the duck faces and the self absorbed to do what they do EVERY DAY,  saturate social media with their narcissistic selves. Well, I don't make "duck faces", but I am self-absorbed and narcissistic (what CAT ISN'T?), I am  completely enamored with MYSELF so I just had to take this opportunity to share some super cute photos of ME in all of my nipped out glory!!

Recently, the "catnip fairy" sent some of this AMAZING catnip to Casa de Cody!  Let me say that while this is NOT a product review, I  told the "catnip fairy" that I would definitely share some photos of yours truly and this pawesome stuff! After all, I always want to let my kitty furiends know when there is some good "stuff" around to help us cope with the daily stress that we often experience with our humans.

"What daily stress?" you ask? Well, today happens to also be "Take Your Cat to Work Day" and if you live with a blogging human, who "works" from home as I do, you spend MUCH of your time AVOIDING the camera (which can make taking selfies for National Selfie Day kinda hard, MOL). I DO have to chuckle. Since my human plants her ample behind on a chair every day to help me with my posts I am kinda STUCK being at "work" all of the time. Well, not ALL of the time. ( I watch my Mom and often wonder: "How can one call playing Words With Friends and SongPop, OBSESSIVELY ALL...DAY...LONG....actually WORKING? Could that be the REAL reason why she is ALWAYS behind on reading and writing blogs, reading email, etc.?") That's a rhetorical question kitties, it's best that we don't answer that right now. I think what you need to see is my oh-so-handsome self all stoned on my nip.


 "I say, let the DOGS do the work and leave us kitties ALONE and let us do what we do best...SLEEP!!! If I wanted to go to "work" I would get a job on my own. Put THAT in your treat ball and CRUNCH it, oh Days of the Year!! I don't need ANY National Day of ANYTHING that INVOLVES WORK! GOT IT!?"

Some of you have humans who actually WORK and who aspire to blogging greatness...I say "Pffft..." Mom and I would rather be the lazy louts that we are. It works for US and we wear our laziness with PRIDE!! How do you think that Mom and I keep our fit and trim bodies? Get real. It's all about priorities and OUR priority is FOOD...and for me...FOOD AND NAPS....and for Mom...MORE FOOD.....so don't be looking for any blogging greatness around here, ok?

In case you were wondering, the Cosmic Catnip in the photos is 2-3 times more potent than normal catnip, it's made into "nuggets" to help keep it fresh and less messy, and it is grown in the USA from non-GMO seeds. Now, if you will excuse me I would appreciate being left alone to savor some private moments with my nip........if your humans take YOU to "work" today, I feel sorry for you. Remind your humans that YOU ARE A CAT and WORK IS NOT IN YOUR VOCABULARY.  Tell your humans to talk to ME and I will set them straight!
