"National Garfield The Cat Day was first celebrated in 1998 on the 20th anniversary of the comic strip and Garfield’s birthday. Boca Raton City Council Member, Wanda Thayer, proclaimed June 19 as Garfield the Cat Day during surprise birthday party at the International Museum of Cartoon Art in Boca Raton." (My Dad's art is also featured in that museum!!)
I have always loved this snarky, lasagna obsessed cat. He remains one of my all time favorites!

#National Pet Day and #CaturdayArt:It's Cody the "TOYMINATOR!!!"
First on our agenda, is we want to wish EVERYONE a HAPPY NATIONAL PET DAY!!! (yes, yes, for all of you and for us, EVERY DAY is National Pet Day!) If only many in the rest of the world who abandon pets on a daily basis, felt the same.
If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.
OMC my furiends!
Wait til you see the Caturday Art submission that Cody received as a present for this birthday!!!!!
It was created by Cody's long-time furiend (and sometime cat-bedmate, hehehe), Nellie, (also sometimes known as Penelope, from The Thoughts and Musings of the Cats From Hell (also known as, Cat From Hell...confused yet?)! MOL!!!!
Here you go!
I can't begin to tell you how much Cody and I LOVE THIS! It appears that Nellie received her inspiration from Cody's birthday give-away post, with THIS photo:

Copycat: And a Litter of Other Cats by David Yow, Enter to Win!
Artist David Yow has a winner on his paws, with his zany, witty, vibrant, raucous and laugh-out-loud hilarious, coffee-table book, Copycat: and a litter of other cats.
Love cats? Love puns? Fan of the absurd? Then you will love this book!
Artist David Yow has exhibited his work-including originals of some of the cats that appear in Copycat, at galleries and festivals across the world! In 2013, a solo exhibition of Yow's cat prints was exhibited at the Donaufestival in Austria.
I am a huge fan of cartoons and art, and I love plays on words. Copycat is a 160 page collection of boldly illustrated cat puns referencing everything from literary classics such as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, to Grumpy Cat, to straight puns "Catsup". Feeling down? Leafing through this book is sure to make you smile! It is the purrfect gift for cat lovers of all ages and one you will want to turn the pages of again and again! It's also purrfect cocktail party fodder, keep this just a paw's reach away on your coffee-table,you have an instant conversation starter!
ABOUT THE BOOK: David Yow says: I love cats. Always have. The only time I didn't have a cat was a brief hell in Chicago where I lived in an apartment whose landlord didn't allow them. At that place, I had a life-sized cardboard cutout of a cat named Toody. I also love wordplay. I'm the only adult I hang out with who still gets a kick out of puns. I make up palindromes. I used to write songs and poems. In this book of cat-pun drawings, I have made a concerted effort to come up with ideas that range from really funny to really amusing. The entire litter of animals in this book are line drawings that are "colored in" with photographic textures, and each cat is dropped into a photographic setting. Yep, that's the truth.
