Mom Will Be Meowing at BarkWorld and MeowWorld thanks to Rachael Ray Nutrish! (Sponsored)

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Rachael Ray Nutrish.   As always, thank you for reading and supporting our sponsors.

Hi every furry! Well, tomorrow is going to be a sad day for me. A sad day indeed! Tomorrow Mom is leaving me (AGAIN) for "Hotlanta", where she will be attending Barkworld and Meowworld thanks to MY being an Ambassacat for Nutrish for Cats! (Ok, Dakota is an Ambassadog, so I guess since he hooked up with Nutrish first, I should give credit where credit is due! Nutrish is one of the sponsors of Barkworld/Meowworld and thanks to their generosity, Mom is able to attend!

Mom is pawticularly excited because the Cat Writers' Association annual conference will be held in conjunction with Meowworld (they are sponsoring Meowworld), and it will be Mom's first time attending a CWA conference!

Last year when Mom went to Barkworld her focus was on all things dog, THIS year it will be different! Mom is planning on attending a number of cat-related events, and is going to be focusing more on CATS there. (Well, that's a no-brainer, she SHOULD be!)

The event will be bitter sweet due to the sudden and unexpected passing of Lorie Huston (former CWA President), and Mom is going to be one of many cat bloggers attending a special remembrance event Saturday morning who will be wiping tears from their eyes.

Mom is also sad because she had been teasing Lorie about the costume she is going to wear Thursday evening at the CWA  Bag Stuffing and Welcome Reception (being held from 5pm to 7pm). Lorie had told Mom she couldn't wait to see her costume, Mom is sad that won't happen. Mom is going to try and keep a smile on her face, but her heart will be aching. (For those attending the bag stuffing Thursday night, you won't be able to miss Mom, trust me....MOL)

Mom says it will be nice to re-connect with so many blogging pals (from both  cat AND dog blogs), and, as always, it will be great to meet new furiends too!

If you want to keep tabs on Mom at the conference, you can follow her on twitter @catchatcaren where she will be doing the majority of her tweeting.  Mom will also be re-tweeting some tweets that Nutrish will be posting! You can follow them too @Nutrish. Unlike other DEDICATED bloggers, Mom is NOT bringing her laptop with her to Atlanta, but she said she WILL have an update within a few weeks of her return.

What will I be doing while Mom is away?

What do you think?

I will be eating THIS:

AND LOTS OF THIS!!!
I have Dad wrapped around my paw for extra servings you know!

As much as I LOVE my Nutrish for Cats, I will wish Mom wouldn't go.
Do you think there is room for me in her bag?

"Inquiring Minds Want to Know!!"

Hi and Happy Friday!

I am pleased to tell you that today's blog post is brought to you, thanks to Janet from (imagine this, a DOG BLOG!!) Janet's blog is Wag 'N Woof Pets and if you haven't visited it, please do! Mom got her Janets mixed up on my original post so blame the mistake on HER!  Anyway, thanks to Janet,  Mom is actually allowing me to blog!

As most of you know Mom is getting over some nasty sickie that she seems to have contracted somewhere along the way when she went to Atlanta for BarkWorld. She wasn't even going to allow me to blog, but she received some wonderful questions from Janet and decided to let me reply!

1) Are you glad to have Mom home? Are you kidding??!! OF COURSE! I waited and waited for a looong time, it seemed like furever! I was trapped here in "dog hell" with my Dad cooing, oohing and ahhhing over Sheltie boy! You know, as much as my Dad loves me, he is a secret card carrying member of "TEAM DOG!" To add insult to injury, my Mom takes off for an event called BARKWORLD? Seriously? What's wrong with this picture!? That being said, I knew when she returned she had some good stuff for me!

I smell SOMETHING!
Just not sure if it is awful woofie smells
or PRESENTS FOR ME!

Let me look  a little closer
there is SOMETHING
in here for me!
I KNOW IT!

Found it!
Mom brought home a super cool
"Love Glove"
for me
maybe one day she will
let me blog about it!

Check out Love Glove on
www.fourpaws.com

She also brought home laser lights for me!
The rest of the loot she shared with
Christina from Peace, Love & Whiskers

Now back to the questions!

2) Did you take care of Dakota or did he take care of you while she was gone?  Of course it was ME taking care of Dakota. I run the show around here with him. You know that Dakota is a neurotic mess. I try and teach him to be more like me, you know, "never let them see you sweat", don't let them know you missed them, will miss them or that you DO miss them! Keeps them on their toes, ya know? Sheltie Boy followed Dad at every turn. He's a "pack" kinda guy and he just couldn't keep it together, one of his PACK was missing and he was beside himself. He was a sniveling wreck! If it's possible, he barked even MORE! So much so that I STILL have a headache!

3) Did you both have to take care of Dad? Once again that was left up to ME! I don't know what Dad would have done without my 4am wake-up calls! When Mom is here I let everyone sleep a little longer, but with Dad here unsupervised, I was afraid if I didn't wake him up at 4am that we might NEVER EAT! I am sure Dad appreciated my reminders!!!
Dad did do the best that he could. He DID scoop my litter, he gave me my coconut oil every night, he did pet me, overall I think he did a FINE job but he couldn't have done it without me....but....my Mom has "cat mojo" and I needed her to come home, and FAST cause SHE understands me!

Janet, thanks so much for those great questions! (Sorry about the earlier mix-up, Mom was delirious with fever) So now all is right with my world. I have been taking great care of Mom while she has been sick, I have been sleeping next to her and staring at her, just to make sure she is ok, even Dakota has been taking good care of her.

Mom is home, all is good! She better NOT be going ANYWHERE!!

Stay tuned.........

"Stuff" on Sunday

Well, Mom dropped the ball again. She didn't find out until late yesterday when she was reading a number of blogs that she follows,  that yesterday was:

BLACK CAT APPRECIATION DAY
We hope that all of the horrible myths about Black Cats will vanish, once and for all!

For those that may not know, it was also International Homeless Animals Day and Mom DID help Dakota blog about that.

Mom and I just wanted to let you know that if we aren't around much for the next two weeks or so, we aren't being rude, there is just stuff going on.

Last October when Mom leased her new car, she misjudged how far she had to reach from inside the car while closing the door, and did something to her arm. It took her until APRIL to tell the doctor and at that time the doctor thought all was ok. Well, we aren't sure. Mom has A LOT of pain that travels to her shoulder. She can barely put a jacket on and some other things that are unmentionables, because of the pain.( If you are in the immediate vicinity of Mom, watch out, we don't want any "swinging objects" hitting you in the face MOL!) The pain comes and goes and when it is bad, it's BAD! Mom went back to the doctor the week before last and the doctor said Mom has a "frozen shoulder." (Which is not a surprise to Dad, he says Mom has been giving him the "cold shoulder" for quite some time now, but I digress). The doctor is sending Mom for  X-Rays on Monday and then she will be starting therapy next week (2 or 3 times a week for a month). Hopefully that will solve the problem, if not, Mom has to see an Orthopedist and she isn't thrilled!

Also....this week Mom is going to BarkWorld for the first time!

She is excited because it is thanks to Rachael Ray's Nutrish dog food that she gets to go (you can read about it on Dakota's blog on Monday) Not to worry kitties, Mom hasn't gone completely to the "dog side", she is going to be attending some events/sessions for kitties at BarkWorld too! Getting me, Dakota, Dad and two blogs ready for her departure has her pretty busy right now!

Mom is doing her utmost to visit everyone and catch up on emails, but in the event she isn't around as much as usual, she is doing her best!

In the meantime, have an "Easy" Sunday and enjoy this shot of my toesies!

Love, Cody
