Happy New Year 2024!

Dearest friends, 2023 was quite challenging. There were profound and heartbreaking losses of beloved pets and people, a world in turmoil and many people struggling in the U.S. due to our crazy interest rates etc.

The arrival of a new year enables us to reset, adjust, focus and change our way of thinking and acting, if necessary.

Sending each and every one of you our loving and  heartfelt wishes for a 2024 that brings good health, prosperity, love, peace and fun adventures that will fill your hearts with joy!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024!!!!!

15 GOOD Things That Came Out of the Stinky Year 2020

Can't begin to tell you how HAPPY I am to say goodbye to probably the WORST year of my life and the lives of MANY others.

If I had to name 2020 it would be "The Year of Loss"

It began with the loss of activities and items that we all took for granted. Parties, going out to restaurants with friends/family, getting together with friends and family for various holidays/celebrations, hugging, taking part in group events such as football games and concerts, grocery shopping (in person for the early part of the year), not being able to find toilet paper, paper towels, disinfectant, wipes, other misc. cleaning products,  did I say hugging?

Then, there were the personal losses. Both of my boys, my stepdaughter......these losses nearly did us in...but we made it, scarred for life, but we made it.

I remember having so much excitement and great anticipation when 2020 first began, I was CERTAIN it was going to be a great year. (Don't call me if you want any psychic predictions!)

But, as is always the case when there is bad, there is good that goes along with it:

15 GOOD Things That Came Out of the Stinky Year 2020

(In NO Particular Order!!)

1) New found appreciation for waiting possibly one day too long to take a shower.

2) Not having to be at group events/parties,   that deep down you REALLY didn't want to attend anyway

3) Appreciation of the LITTLE things, enjoying nature, QUIET, a slowed-down pace. Binge-watching your favorite garbage TV shows (in my case that would be MUCH of the programming on TLC)

4) Fun get-togethers on ZOOM (am I the only one who prior to COVID never even knew that ZOOM existed?)

5) Being able to embrace the introvert part of me (yep, while I appear to be out-going and am great at acting the part), a HUGE part of me is a MAJOR introvert! I have always enjoyed my own company, (probably from having lived MUCH of my adult life on my own), and have never been one to partake in many group events both online and in person.

6) My new relationship with DoorDash...oh DoorDash how I love you! (Wooo hooo I can order food from MILES away that arrives in LESS THAN AN HOUR!!! )

7) The amazing job that Whole Foods does on home delivery

8) Never wearing a bra!!! (wait, was that TMI?) too bad!

9) QVC.......the hosts at QVC, and their banter got me through many a blue day during the pandemic

10) A new granddaughter who was born in June. Sadly, due to COVID we barely know her and she doesn't know us, but we are hoping that will change in 2021.

11)Seeing our other granddaughter on Facetime and lighting up when she says "Nana!" and "Grandpa"

12) Our amazing Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who in spite of incredible opposition, put "PEOPLE ahead of POLITICS" no matter what some may think of her!!! Love you "Big Gretch!!"

13) Friends from near and far who reached out to me personally via phone calls, snail mail cards, email, private messages on Facebook and texts with messages of caring, quotes, graphics, and some special incredibly touching gifts sent to bring comfort after the loss of Cody and Dakota. Those kind gestures/special gifts, live in my heart and home, and helped more than any of you know, and will never, ever be forgotten!!!

(Look closely and you will see Levi next to Lenny)

14) My husband, who through the beginning stages of the pandemic did MOST of the runs to the store/drug store and now, with two toddlers in our midst spends MUCH of his day taking Levi on countless potty runs and breaking up toddler fights!!! He is the primary potty trainer for Levi, and referee for Levi and Roary (I am the "bad cop", disciplinarian, I am working on teaching Levi commands, and trying to keep Roary entertained in another room to give him some one-on-one attention).

15) Last but not least, my boys!!!! Roary and Levi! Out of the worst possible year came two ENORMOUS BLESSINGS!!

This was by no means my entire list of GOOD things that came out of the worst year of my life, but they sure are a good start right?

****On a completely other note....I want to thank EVERYONE who sent  the wonderful holiday snail mail cards and email cards that I received. I was saving each and every ecard to feature on the blog.......then........I bought a new notebook......and...the ecards are all on the OLD laptop. (I didn't buy the cord to transfer items over).......so please accept my deepest apologies!! I had every intention of posting them......so much for intentions, right? My intentions were good for 2020 as I mentioned above.........well, I'm shutting up now.....thanks for thinking of us! Thanks for being there for us during the past year......you are all like extended family!! Whatever you do to ring in the New Year be safe and smart!!!!

I am grateful to each and every one of you who take the time to read my blog, even when I barely blogged through much of 2020, thanks for sticking with me! Much love and gratitude is being sent to all of you!

Bye 2020!!!! Don't let the door hit ya on the way out!!!

#Ad : Cat Tells the TRUTH About What He Is Looking Forward To In 2017 #NutrishPets

Rachael Ray Nutrish has sponsored this post, but all opinions are my own.

Hi my furiends, it's Cody. Well,  2016 is about to be kicked to the curb, and let me tell you, this kitty is THRILLED! 2016 wasn't particularly great to the World, to many humans that I know, and it was "nasty" to  many of my furry friends.   I will be HAPPY to see it go! I DO have some reservations about 2017, but that is a story for an entirely different day, time and place!

The
other day I was busy lounging on the couch as I often do, and thought my duties as an Ambassacat for Nutrish were done
for the year, but then Misson Control at Nutrish contacted me, and I  learned that my input was needed along with Dakota's, to share our thoughts about "What We Are Looking Forward to In 2017."  Of course
Dakota, being the sensitive Sheltie kiss-up that he is, did a post about his "A Dog's 17 Wishes for a Happy New Year 2017."  It's no surprise that after reading his post that you wanted ME to share my thoughts as well.  I applaud you for realizing how brilliant, wise snarky I am and knowing that I will tell you EXACTLY how I feel!

You want to know what I am looking forward to in 2017?
First, I am sorry Mission Control, I love you as much almost as much as I love Nutrish For Cats, but I AM A CAT.  I don't have the same over-the-top, attention seeking needs as my neurotic woofie brother.  I am here to tell you, (Key Meghan Trainor......)

"I'M ALL ABOUT THE FOOD, 'BOUT THE FOOD, NO KIDDING.
I'M ALL ABOUT THE FOOD, 'BOUT THE FOOD, NO KIDDING."

DID YOU HEAR ME? "I'M ALL ABOUT THE FOOD!!"  SPECIFICALLY, YOUR FOOD. CAPISCE? Since you introduced Nutrish for Cats to the Nutrish family of products,  and made ME an "Ambassacat" to enhance the insipid posts that my Sheltie brother does, my life and my meals IMPROVED FOR THE BETTER!

Yeah, yeah, I know you want me to be all sensitive and mushy sickening, like my Sheltie brother, but, once again, I AM A CAT. I am not going to give you all of this lovey-dovey, sensitive stuff that I am looking forward to in 2017.

Here is what I do EVERY DAY
THAT I LOOK FORWARD TO REPEATING
 ALL 365 DAYS OF 2017!!

EATING---Nutrish for Cats!!!
SLEEPING
CLEANING MYSELF
PLAYING
SPENDING TIME WITH MOM AND DAD
EATING---Nutrish for Cats!!!

Ok, so I AM proud, honored, and thrilled to be one of your Ambassacats again in 2017, It is going to be a pawesome year in that regard for sure!!! YOU know that, and I KNOW THAT.
But, I am NOT going to spin around with excitement like a certain Sheltie that we all know, I am MUCH more refined and in control than THAT!
If you are looking for over exuberance and mushiness, you have my Mom and my Sheltie brother!!
What I WILL tell you is that I am hoping that kitties who haven't tried Nutrish for Cats will do so in 2017, (I know you have some exciting plans for 2017 up your paws,  and THAT, I AM looking forward to!) And.....if the kitties I know try Nutrish for Cats, they will be helping Rachael Ray help the animals through Rachael's Rescue, and THAT is PAWTASTIC!!  THAT matters to me almost as much as EATING YOUR FOOD.
(Ok, to me, the food comes first, but you get the idea). There are many animals who aren't as fortunate as Dakota and I, and in my heart of hearts, I want them all to have furever homes, delicious food, and the love that I have EVERY DAY! Rachael Ray cares about them too and that is why she gives back!
A portion of Nutrish proceeds go to Rachael’s Rescue®, which was created to help animals in need. To date, over $14MM has been donated. This money has gone toward food, medical supplies and treatments for these unfortunate animals.

All of the Rachael Ray Nutrish products are available where you shop for your family’s groceries, making specialty recipes accessible and convenient for every pet parent.
Follow Nutrish !
Facebook Nutrish and/or Nutrish for Cats
And some things that will ALWAYS BE,
Like ME eating Nutrish for Cats!
From my family to yours,
From my Nutrish "family" to yours,
From my FOOD BOWL to YOURS,
We wish you a Happy, Safe, Blessed,
Prosperous, and DELICIOUS NEW YEAR!!!!
Love, Cody

Happy(?) New Year:2016!!

My Sheltie brother took the "hair of the dog" thing a little too seriously.........is the room spinning or is it just me?

Doesn't matter.....you enjoy the first day of 2016 without me, ok? I gotta sleep this off and will catch ya soon!! Love, Cody

Our Fifteen Wishes for 2015

A lot sure can change in a year!

This photo was taken approximately one year ago and we felt it was the best one for us to use to welcome 2015!

It is appropriate for us that the first day of the New Year falls on "Thankful Thursday"

Dear Friends, Cody and I cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH for the outpouring of love and good wishes that you have all so generously bestowed on us!!!! We want to thank you all individually, but since we more than likely will inadvertently miss someone, (or a few someones), we wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU ALL, right here!

None of us know what 2015 has in store for any of us,
but here are our wishes for 2015:

1) That all kitties who are ill, hurting, or suffering will be restored to good health and peace in the coming year

2) That kitties who do not have a home will find one

3) That you will all be loved

4) May prosperity be yours!

5) That you have plenty of noms in your bowls

6) That you have an abundance of toys to play with

7) That you have at least ONE wellness trip to the dreaded V-E-T

8) That there be peace among 2 leggers

9) That you have plenty of comfy sleeping spots!

10) That your humans make the time to PLAY, PLAY, PLAY!

11) That your humans take less trips, leaving you at home without them!

12)  That you have plenty of fun things to see outside your windows

13) That the number of pets turned into shelters will decrease!

14) That we all stop to give thanks EVERY DAY, not just on Thanksgiving!

15) And last, but not least, and certainly foremost in our minds, we said it already but we will say it again...that KITTIES AND THEIR HUMANS know ONLY good health and good things in 2015!!!!
