Veterans Day (The REAL One)

I am not a fan of holidays being moved to a Monday to recognize them...the REAL Veterans Day is TODAY....not tomorrow (even though it is being observed November 12th. The holiday is REALLY November 11th)

  1. Of course it shouldn't be moved. There is a reason for it being November 11th regardless of the day of the week. If someone decides to change the date of Remembrance it lessens the importance of it.

  2. I totally agree with keeping the day Nov 11. It always will be Nov 11 for me. When are they going to move Christmas?

  3. You're absolutely right. Why do they feel the need to move such an important day around?

  4. This is a special day too - 100 years since the Armistice.

  5. My company has moved the celebrating of Veteran's Day to 11/23, so everyone gets a two-day holiday for US Thanksgiving. Honoring veterans is something that we do every day, since we live near a base and see folks in uniform daily!

  6. All of our heroes are special and we need to honor and remember them every single day.

  7. It was/is known as Remembrance Day in Canada, and so while petcretary had to work on Nov 11, she wore a poppy. Hardly anyone here in the USA knows what that means:(
    So she educated them!
Thanks to all who serve(d), for their countries.

(Nov 11 was also petcretay's Oma's birthday...so that made her special in so many ways.)
