Allergies or not, I'm still adorable-A little bit of words on Wednesday

Nope, Cody wasn't hit in the mouth. This is how my poor boy looked for over a week. He was having one of his regular allergy flare-ups. This time (and the time prior to this), it settled on his mouth. He has been on Prednisonol for over a week now and his mouth is pretty much back to normal, well, "normal" for HIM.

  22. Aww Cody, you poor sweet kitty!
My kitty Winter gets the same flare ups. He is allergic to fleas, and we have had one batch of fleas come in the house so far this year. ICK! His lip swelled a wee bit, but we got him taken care of and got rid of the fleas in a quick hurry. He looked just like you Cody!
    Have a great day!

  25. Oh, Cody, we're all sorry to read that your allergies were acting up again. We're glad the Pred has helped, though. I'm still trying to find the right balance of Prednisolone for Nicki: Enough to keep the coughing under control, but not enough to cause flare ups of either this virus he has or allergies (or both). Right now I'm only semi-successful, as he still coughs and he's still sneezing!

Purrs from Nicki and Derry and smooches from me.

Allergy ... it's terrible. I had a bad one from last August till January. My Nat à Chat thinks that mine will be back in August, with the return of the little red bugs. They live in the grasse.

    1. thanks so much Connie. For a couple of years we thought it was food so he was eating just rabbit. He was still having flare ups. The vet now thinks it is environmental but we don't know what is causing it. I am thinking it is the changing of the seasons, that seems to be when it happens the most.

  34. POOR CODY! We're glad your medicine works for you!

Ryker had that happen to him once, but it was his own fault - he fell and gotted himself a FAT LIP. Mommy tried not to laff (#FAIL).

  35. We've had a couple cats allergic to plastic food dishes. Their lips balloon! So painful! I hope Cody feels better soon!

  36. Poor Cody!! Hope you keep getting better buddy!

PS - Wonder if Greyson has allergies too? He either gets a winky eye or a little fat lip....

    1. Uh oh! He might! Does it go away on it's own? If so, you are lucky! The vet and I had decided to watch and wait for a week with Cody, because he was just on Pred before I went to BlogPaws and we weren't thrilled about putting him back on it so soon. It didn't clear up on it's own and we had to :(
