Happy Valentine's Day my furiends!!!!! I don't usually post on Sundays, but when I do, it's Valentine's Day and it is DAY ONE of my TWO DAY GIVE-AWAY for YOU!!!

Day One is a WORLD-WIDE GIVE-AWAY!!!

Late in 2015 Mom and I were  contacted by a sweet lady named Lucie who has a lovely shop on Etsy,  and she has a website too! Mom and I were  flattered because she found our  blog all the way in  Valašské Meziříčí in the Czech Republic!!!!

·      Quirky hand-painted stainless steel jewelry
 and jewelry stands

The above photo are the earrings that Mom chose to feature on the blog

(she received ONE pair of earrings, but she took two different photos for you).
Visit www.Cinkylinky.com and Cinkylinky on Etsy!!

The jewelry that is in the shop is "Whimsical stainless steel jewelry"

Kitties, you won't believe it, but there are only TWO people in the shop, where Lucie works? Just Lucie and her husband Petr!

FROM PETR ON ETSY:
Lucie has always been very good at painting, and when she was fourteen she started to make wired jewelry. She combined beads, stones and semi-precious stones for her friends, whilst also making some extra "pocket money" at her friend´s Mom´s shop by making and selling hand-made products.

The idea to start a business came in 2004, when we were students here in the Czech Republic and wanted to go to Greece during the summer break. We were poor, and could certainly not afford an expensive "holiday". However, we could afford the journey itself, so we bought the tickets, packed our bags with a lot of wires, beads and two pairs of pliers and, after a forty hour coach journey from the geographical "Heart of Europe", we made it to the original "Heart" of European philosophy and culture. We ended up on the beautiful island of Paros, slept on the beach and sold our jewelry to other tourists. On good days, we were able to leave our bags in a bush and go to a restaurant for a lovely Greek meal. Sometimes we even traveled to surrounding islands. It was a great summer, and, when we came back, we were full of enthusiasm for more "good days" - something we knew now was possible. Here in the Czech Republic we found more shops to ally ourselves with, and things started to "roll up".

Then Lucie came up with very funny hand-painted copper birds with wired legs. They were a great success and, because they were very much of a "novelty", they sold so well that we could never make enough of them. At that time we started to go to summer music festivals and craft shows, meeting our customers face-to-face. This was a great joy, especially because some of them had already become familiar with our designs and became our "regulars".

Then we changed from copper to stainless steel, a material which enchanted us with its amazing qualities and characteristics.

We started to sell jewelry because we wanted to enjoy our summer holiday. However, soon it became more than that - making jewelry, and everything associated with it, became a passion we could not live without.

We still bring our designs to customers at craft shows and music festivals and cooperate with local handmade shops. Now, thanks to Etsy, we feel blessed to be able to bring the results of our work to people all around the world.

Petr (2014)

Win a Handmade Cat Blogger Lampwork Necklace from For Love Of A Dog! Purrfect for #BlogPaws!

It's my  Birthday Give-Away Grand Finale!

Ohhh my furiends do I ever have a give-away for you! I even got Mom to return from the Zombie Sickie Land long enough to help me with this one! Trust me you are gonna LOVE IT!

Back in February of 2012, Mom blogged about a website that she had found called For Love Of A Dog where some of the BEST jewelry on the web is made by Sue Kottwitz, (owner/artisan/craftsperson, jewelry maker extraordinaire!)  Don't let the name fool ya kitties, they have CAT JEWELRY TOO!
Visit For Love Of A Dog Here

Mom had purrsonally BOUGHT a few items from Sue which she talks about in her blog post from February 2012 and also on Dakota's blog. Mom adores Sue's jewelry and is certain that you will too.

Sue's jewelry ALWAYS arrives attractively  packaged:

Here are some more pieces from For Love Of A Dog that Mom owns:
Sue surprised Mom
and sent her these
earrings that Mom
will cherish forever
as a THANK YOU
for having this give-away
and the one that just ended on Dakota's blog

When Mom  went to the BlogPaws conference  in 2011,  She  brought way too much jewelry to "represent" both  me  AND Dakota. Packing was a nightmare, she  had so many chains around her neck that she looked like "Mr.T!!"
Well Sue came up with the PERFECT solution for that problem!
Sue sent Mom a necklace that covered ALL of her "bases!"
Here is a photo of Mom's necklace!

Just when one would think that the selection of Sue's jewelry on her site couldn't get any better,  Sue came up with the great idea of making jewelry that would not only be ideal for those of us attending the BlogPaws Conference in May, but would also be suitable for those who are not members of BlogPaws (or bloggers), but would still love to purchase (or win!!) a slightly different version of the  necklace for themselves!

Mom thought that was a fantastic idea!

For this GIVE-AWAY
Sue came up with the PURRFECT necklace
 for Cat Lovers!

From For Love Of A Dog:

This hand crafted necklace is a special tribute to the annual Blog Paws Conference event. Sweet artisan lampwork black and white paw print beads and black agate gemstone beads are hand wire wrapped with silver jeweler's wire.

The centerpiece consists of 3 separate hand stamped detachable charms.

Silver paw print proclaiming BLOGPAWS accented with a ruby red crystal rondel.
Silver cat silhouette proclaiming BLOGGER, also accented with a ruby red crystal rondel.
Puffy red hand made lampwork glass heart
Charms attach/detach with tiny lobster claw findings for easy on and off. Wear charms solo or in any combination you desire.
Necklace measures 18" or with extender chain, 21".

The REGULAR PRICE of this necklace would be $85 but Sue has put the necklace ON SALE for my readers for at least 2 weeks! The sale price is $50 which is a bargain for meticulously handcrafted, original jewelry that you CANNOT find anywhere else!  If you would like to order the necklace NOW, just click here

For those who might be interested in purchasing the DOG version  just click here

When Mom talks about  the superb quality, value, creativity, uniqueness,  and appearance of Sue's jewelry, she is  saying that as a CUSTOMER, NOT as a person given an item for free to review.

Friday Find! For Love Of A DOG!

Hi everyone! It's Cody and YES you are at the right place! This IS Cat Chat and YES you read correctly, the title of this blog post is For Love Of A DOG!!

Before we get into that, I am writing today because Mom isn't feeling well. She thinks she is getting a cold and she  feels awful. She wanted me to tell you about something really cool that she bought and just didn't feel up to it, so me, being the helpful kitty that I am told her I would pick up her slack as I always do.

As everyone knows, Valentine's Day is right around the corner and Mom was reading the fabulous blog by Ingrid King,  The Conscious Cat, and noticed she had posted a blog about Valentine's Gifts For Cat Lovers.

Being the unoriginal person that she is, Mom decided to pilfer that idea (for those of you that may want to run over and tell Ingrid that Mom is stealing her ideas, HA!! She already told her!!! Gotta be up pretty early to stay a step ahead of US!! hehehe).

Mom found a fabulous website called For Love Of A Dog. Yes, DOG. Why are Mom and I featuring this website HERE? Good question, and OF COURSE, I HAVE THE ANSWER cause I know everything!

For Love Of A Dog has CAT ITEMS! Specifically CAT JEWELRY!!

From their website:

Our name may by For Love of a Dog, but we do offer cat jewelry.  In fact, we love cats and we're glad you do, too!   All of our handcrafted cat jewelry, including cat necklaces, cat bracelets, and cat earrings are listed here.  You'll find a wide variety of cat charms and cat pendants in our feline friendly jewelry.  We also offer hand stamped items like our "Cat Lady" bracelets that are sure to please any cat lover.  All of our cat lover jewelry is handmade by us and most is one of a kind. Purrfect feline gifts for cat lovers!

Check out what Mom ordered (yes, she BOUGHT these! and loved them soooo much that she wanted me to tell you about them!)

Mom and I aren't sure the photo is doing the earrings justice, but what Mom loved (among other things) was the "artsy" look of these earrings and that the kitty resembles a TABBY! Like me!!

When the earrings arrived, the first thing that blew Mom away was the painstaking care and attention to detail that was used for packing. Everything that Mom ordered the other items were all dog related so if you want to read about those you will have to read Dakota's blog on Monday cause I don't handle his PR, I'm too busy for that! came packaged in rich chocolate brown boxes accented with red and green and had bows on them. The presentation was just spectacular and the quality of the items were superb!!
