Welcome to our Blog about Nothing #Nationalnothingday

"Everybody's doing SOMETHING, we'll do NOTHING!!!"

While others are busy posting their goals/challenges for 2018, we are proud to say that we are doing nothing!!!!!!

You want NOTHING? You have come to the right place!!

Due to life getting in the way, we have been doing some serious reflection (that's always a dangerous thing for us). As a result,  we have thrown worrying about stats/numbers to the wind,  we don't have a plan, a goal, have no desire to promote ourselves, we are simply here when we are here to share whatever flips our switches! Our "plan", (if you can call it one), is to return to the reason that we began blogging to begin with. We are returning to our roots, we want to blog simply because we LOVE CATS....THAT'S IT plain and simple. No more chasing our tails, and feeling as if we are on a perpetual hamster wheel. Just articulating it makes us feel as if a choke collar has been removed from our necks! Our new mantra? "Let the kibble fall where it may!"

You know the "elevator pitches" that are strongly urged that we create? Ours is "welcome to our blog about NOTHING!!!"

We  are going to continue to do what we do BEST.....NOTHING!!!!!!

Hey, it worked for Seinfeld!

  4. I have never worried about stats. I loved my boys so much, and of course still do, so I wanted to share them with others who love cats and wanted to share in their adventures.

    1. I hear you. I love my boys too but unfortunately when you monetize your blog you have to worry about stats. I no longer care. Ultimately if a brand likes your work they will choose to work with you numbers or no numbers........if we have product reviews fine, if we don't? That is perfectly fine too.........as I said "let the kibble fall where it may!"

  5. Honestly, from a cat I never expect more than doing nothing. My cats spend all day doing nothing while we dogs are out hunting down squirrels and wabbits, walking our mom, doing sports...and the cats??? They are napping :)

  9. Ha! It did work for Seinfeld, didn't it? Obsessing over stats is kind of a drag and takes away from the fun of blogging, which is to write what you love and meet up online with blogging buddies. I like your nothing already! :)

    1. dead serious. No set schedule. Will keep it reasonably active. Will do what I feel like doing when I feel like doing it. Obviously if I am offered to be paid for something I will do it (but only if it appeals to me, I never blog about a product for payment or not unless it appeals to me), but will not actively pursue anyone.

  18. We agree. As bloggers we spend so much time chasing our tails over social media, strategies, commenting on other blogs, SEO, money ... I've essentially come to the same conclusion. I just don't want to bother with all that nonsense. Blogging is about sharing one's story. I'll never be a top blogger - but I never would've been anyway because I've never won a popularity contest and I don't fit in.

    1. I don't want to bother with all of that nonsense either. And...don't feel bad, I gave up on awards LONG ago.....it's subjective and highly political. I also "will NEVER win a popularity contest and I don't fit in" either...........never have, never will. The important thing? I am PROUD of that.......and...in my book you ROCK. I have told you that many, many times. You are hilariously funny, bright, kind-hearted.......to me, that's what matters most. I have had one too many knives put into my back from people who supposedly sought out my opinions....the hilarious part? They don't know that I know.........

I don't believe in ass-kissing....and I tell it like it is, that is frightening to some. Thank you for appreciating honesty! Also thank you for thinking we are funny, I think so too (some of the time lol) and Cody IS "freakin cute" We love you!

  22. It works for us. Last night I was commiserating how seven years ago I posted daily at two blogs. That's 14 posts a week and now it's once weekat Cat Wisdom 101 and way less at Boomermuse. The way I look at us long time bloggers is we've paid our dues and sitting on an archive of original content (good, bad or whatever,it's gold). Just because you're not blogging as much, go ahead and retweet an old post. Everything old is new again :-)

Hooray...another kitty and his peep who feels the fun goes away when you have to have 'something'...our blog is just a lot of sweet and fun nothingness...'non-importa' Petcretary blogs for us to keep a journal of our doings, much fun for us, but not much of anything for those pros...they would snort at our doings, MOL! Hey we are not here for them we are here for us and of course our good furends..and YOU are among that elite group, and hey, that makes you a lot more than nothing.

  28. I couldn't agree more! Blogging should be fun and not about numbers and stats. For me, it's definitely a hobby and just something to do for fun. I sometimes get the feeling that "hobby" is a no-no word to some bloggers. But to be honest, that's exactly how I view my own blog. I definitely admire those who have the energy and motivation to blog full time - and their blogs are awesome - but some of the best ones are the just-for-fun ones! And those are the ones I find myself reading! You can see the heart and passion that go into those ones - and feel the connection with the blogger and the pet. You've always been such a supportive blogging friend, and I truly appreciate it. I also feel that I know Cody (and you!) personally because your blog is so authentic. Kisses and hugs to you and Cody on doing nothing! We'll keep following right along!
