Cats from all CFA-recognized breeds will be present

 These cats will compete for CFA National and Regional level titles.  Additionally, cats from CFA’s newest breed, the Bengals, may be entered for miscellaneous competition. Bengals must meet the CFA registration requirements to be entered or present at the show.


Local non-pedigreed cats are also invited to enter the show, if they are at least 4 months of age, spayed or neutered, and have not been declawed.

 Any person interested in showing their pet cat should contact Megan Hiemstra for more information at dulcimer at gmail dot com. Each cat will be judged by six different judges.

The show is open to spectators. Spectator prices are: $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for kids. Children 6 and under are free. A $1 off coupon is available below!

Thumbs Up Cat Fanciers is a CFA-affiliated club, dedicated to hosting CFA cat shows in the Greater Detroit Area. Founded in 1906, CFA is the world’s largest registry of pedigreed cats, and is devoted to the welfare of all felines.

  4. Way back when my mom was a little girl and a cat lover of the highest order, she went to this show in Minneapolis several years in a row. It brings back memories for her.

  6. Sounds like fun! I love going to cat shows--unfortunately, I understand the one near us (National Capital Cat Show) isn't happening this year, which is so disappointing!

    1. I was supposed to start a job today, but the manager's husband became ill so now I don't know what is up. If I go will depend on if I am working and if so, if I have to work on Saturday. If I am not working I wouldn't go til after 12...........let me know if you can make it!

  22. There is a CFA show here the following weekend - Sept. 24! That is unusual as CFA doesn't usually have shows here, so I'll be excited to see how these shows differ from the TICA shows I've been to.

  26. Well, we have to say, it would be a fun event...but meowmy has to be at work that day...go figure.
    But it still would be a bit of a drive from here at any rate. You know, she has nevfur been to any cat show! Though she has been to a couple of doggy shows, MOL! (Way before she had any furs of her own...)

  36. Our mom and dad have attended cat shows, but we've never been shown. Only Merlin has the personality for it, and he doesn't quite match up to the Sphynx breed standard.
