R.I.P. Glenn Frey, "Take It Easy"

Thank you for being a part of so many of my memories from Kent State University in the 70s.  I remember sitting on the grassy hill outside Memorial Gym, (which no longer exists),   with so many others who couldn't get tickets to the many concerts that The Eagles performed  at Kent. That hill was the best, we could all listen to so many concerts for FREE!!! Thank you for being an integral part of the music memories from my youth.

"Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy"....Yeah Baby...

To my readers, thank you for allowing me to indulge in this diversion in content today.

I did find a photo of Glenn Frey holding two black cats on his lap, but I chose not to post it since there was obvious copyright info printed on it.  Nice to know that he liked cats!

  7. Oh those 70's years bring so many many many memories to this ol' hippie and the Eagles were 100% a part of those memories. I can hear them now. Know what you mean Caren. There goes a part of our youth, Caren.

  9. There have already been so many losses in the short time we've had in 2016. Rest in peace to all those who have passed.

I am glad, though, that you have such fond memories of your concerts on that hill!

    1. Yep that is true. While I the passing of David Bowie was incredibly heartbreaking, I wasn't a huge fan...I liked a few of his songs...regardless, the loss was profound and devastating. Too many that are too young are leaving us. Yep, my Bobo was talking to me through your blog! xoxo

    1. yep and do you believe I didn't know that until this week? I wouldn't have cared about that in the 70s because I was living in Ohio.......but now that I am in Michigan I DO care :)

  19. This was yet another sad passing.
Loved the Eagles and had all the albums(yup, vinyl)
Way to young and he will be missed.

  20. The announcers on our Battle Creek station had quite a bit to say of Glenn Frey, and it seems that some of them even had met him.
It is hard when our 'heroes' pass away.

  21. Very sad to hear of his loss. The Eagles have always been my favorite group. My husband and I got to see them on a reunion tour in the 1990's.

  22. Hotel California is on my all time top fave list. What a sad time but also a wake-up time for us baby boomers as I mentioned in my Bowie tribute to make a difference while we can.

  23. I let out a sad "oh no" when I read that Glenn Frey had died. He and the Eagles produced so much great music. The Eagles were to receive Kennedy Center Honors this year, but postponed it due to Glenn Frey's health. Hopefully he knew how much of an impact his music had.

  25. It is crazy that he is gone! My dad listened to the Eagles a lot when I was growing up. It has been a sad January. We've lost a lot of famous people. My dad listened to the Eagles a lot when I was growing up.

  26. I've been to a lot of concerts in the last few years and seen a lot of older bands, but sadly the Eagles were ones I never got to see either back then or now. So sad to think now it can never happen.
That's an ear worm I enjoy having!
