It's Be Kind To Animals Week!!!

Hi every furry it's Cody! See that photo? Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! I think it is great that a week is devoted to being kind to animals but I think that kindness should be shown to animals EVERY DAY!

There are many ways that every one can be kind to animals for now I am going to talk about how my Mom and Dad are kind to animals!

Mom rescued my Grandpa Bobo when he was a stray kitty. She found him in a blizzard and he ended up living with Mom for 18 years!

Mom adopted me from an adoption event at Petco back in 2007. She gave me a furever home and I know I am one lucky kitty!

Mom keeps me up-to-date on vet visits and vaccinations.

Daddy feeds me a delicious (grain-free) breakfast and Mom feeds me a (grain-free) dinner. Mom also makes sure that I have a few snacks throughout the day.

I have comfy beds to sleep in, windows to sunbathe in, kisses and cuddles and a home where I KNOW I am loved!

Mom and Dad try to keep items that could be harmful to me, away from me! Some of these are:

  • CHOCOLATE
  • ONIONS
  • GARLIC
  • POISONOUS PLANTS
  • STRING
  • DENTAL FLOSS
  • BELLS ON TOYS
  • HANDLES ON PAPER BAGS

Just to name a few!

Mom tries to donate to various animal causes throughout the year and to kitties around the blog-o-sphere that she reads about that are in need.

Once or twice a year Mom goes through my toys and donates lightly-used toys toys that I never play with, to kitties that are less fortunate.

See those toys in the bag in the photo above?
Also the scratcher?
Mom donated those to the kitty above
and some other kitties!
They are having a great time!

I know that many of you have humans who do all sorts of things that show kindness  to animals, I would love hearing about them in the comments! Give me a meow-out!!

Love,
Cody

  1. You mean the humans have only set out ONE WEEK to be kind to animals!? Not EVERY week all year round? That kind of worries me.

  3. Happy "Be Kind to Animals Week" Cody! You and I are lucky that our parents love animals - we got our forever homes because they do! We support the good work the ASPCA and HSUS do by donating to them and even have a feral stray we feed when she stops by for a handout. We are definitely an animal-friendly home and always will be. Have a GREAT day Cody!

  4. Be kind to animals week is a good idea. Hope it means some fab foodables for me and some good outcomes for those that really need it. Have a marvellous Monday.

  5. I watched part of the show, "Queen of Versaille" this weekend. One of the rich kids forgot to feed or water her pet lizard and it died. It was disturbing and pathetic. It is bad enough that some animals live their life in a cage, but then to be completely forgotten. Ugh.

  6. What a great week to celebrate Cody! Your pawrents sound super extra kind to animals, especially you and Dakota. I am thinking about making a trip to the shelter sometime soon to donate some stuff that I haven't used like your mom. May have to collect a couple more things first though.

  7. I guess we should make an hour of being kind to our humans as a reminder that they are being kind to us. Ah! Just kidding, I am kind to my human! What human? What do you mean I could be kinder?! An hour a week is not enough?? Give me more chicken out of your plate and I'll be kinder!

Alright, I guess we can extend to two hours a week of cuddles IF humans extend their week to all year long? How about that? Aren't we worth it? I knew you would say yes ;-)

  9. Oh I so agree. Be kind to animals should definitely be every day not just one week out of the year. We just need to get the message out to the general public. Take care.

those of us who have Mom's that blog for us have the life of a pampered kitten. And what's more most of the Moms and Dads also do other things to help kittens in less than fortunate circumstances. There is a lot of kindness and consideration for those in need. We are all so furry fortunate.

  17. Yay for your mom, she is doing it right! Our mom tries to be good to animals too. All of her kitties have been strays, rescues or ferals, She would love a pure bred but with so many wonderful kitties needing homes, she hasn't ever gotten one, but maybe one from a rescue would be cool. She has spent many hours on the phone calling around trying to find homes for dogs firemen or police officers might like to save dogs from going to the shelter, and its worked a few times. She's found homes for kitties too.

  21. Cody - you sure do have a house full of kindness and it is clear you are loved year round! We think it's wonderful that the toys you don't use are donated to less fortunate kitties! Purrs from the Zee/Zoey gang!

  23. Cody, you have such good humans. Our mommy donates money every month to a TNR organization she supports and also provides them with giant bags of cat food to help with the feral colonies. She knows the eight of us are pretty spoiled so she tries to help out the less fortunate kitties. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
