"I Am Not A Skunk" a Fun Children's book Written by Ellen J. Pilch that is PURRFECT for "National Look-Alike Day"

A number of weeks ago, (make that QUITE a number of weeks ago!), the sweet and most THOUGHTFUL friend-to-many, Ellen J Pilch,  book author as well as the author of the darling blog, 15andmeowing, surprised me with a copy of her latest book "I Am Not A Skunk", which she  sent to me to gift to my cat-loving, almost-2-year-old granddaughter. I am HAPPY to do so!

She will LOVE it!

I was under no obligation at all to feature this darling book, but am more than happy to do so! When I noticed that today is "National Look-Alike Day" I decided it was the PURRFECT day to feature "I Am Not A Skunk" because this day is all about "look-alikes"

You know how they say we all have a twin out there? I am certain that most of you can recall an incident where someone approached you and told you "Oh my you look just like my dear friend such-and-such!!"  (I have had that take place many, many times and all I can say is, Heaven help whomever looks like me...but I digress),

"I Am Not a Skunk" fits this day purrfectly because it is about a homeless black and white (also known as a "Tuxedo kitty), who is excited to find a family, but she has to first convince skeptical Uncle David that she is indeed NOT a skunk. Sarah and her "Auntie" discovered the black and white kitty when they were out planting flowers in their garden. When they told Uncle David about the kitty, he was CERTAIN that it had to be a skunk and NOT a kitty!  When you read "I Am Not a Skunk" you will learn about the ingenious plan that Sarah and "Auntie" devised to prove to Uncle David that the black and white visitor was INDEED A KITTY AND NOT A SKUNK!!

"I Am Not a Skunk" is loosely based on how Ellen's cat, Emmy came to live with her.

From the darling illustrations which were done by Nicolas Peruzzo, to the precious story involving mistaken identity, it is certain to have the little ones giggling with delight! It's just precious and I urge you to pick up a copy today! I will be sharing it with my granddaughter soon, (paws crossed), as soon as we are permitted to visit her face-to-face again!

I give it 5 paws up!!

Thanks so much again Ellen, I will be sure to let you know how she likes it! xoxo

Friday Fun!! Meet the Kitties of the Katzenworld Blog!!

One of a zillion things that I love about blogging, is meeting people from various points on the globe! Cody and I are blessed to have furiends in the UK, France, Greece, Australia and many other countries!  Prior to the internet, the idea of meeting people from other countries seemed out of the question, now it is commonplace, but it is something that I never take for granted. Meeting a new furiend from a far-away place is like opening a beautifully wrapped present!

One day, about 2 months ago, I had the pleasure of meeting the Katzenworld gang on Facebook,  we agreed to share interview questions on both of our blogs, (Cody was the one who asked the questions!), to introduce each other and our cats to our readers! It was Katzenworld's idea, Cody and I loved it and agreed to purrticipate! You can read the interview they posted about us, here!

Please enjoy the interview Cody did about them!

How long have you been running Katzenworld?
We had the idea last year in November, but didn't actually get around to start it up until March this year. You know what it can be like with real life getting in the way LOL.

I originally started the blog on my own but invited one of my best friends Yuki to join in as she too has two cats as well! Additionally our friend Laura is also helping us, but is currently working in Japan. :)

How did you decide to become a Blogger?
I always wanted a presence on the internet for my kitties. They are both rescue cats from a local charity and I thought by starting a Blog I could get the word out that it is worth adopting a rescue cat and especially a black and black and white cat that often seems to be the last to be adopted!

Also before starting the Blog I would often spend ages telling other like minded friends about purrtastic products for their feline friends, and now I can do that on my blog!

What are some of your favorite things about sharing a life and living space with a furry friend or two?
You are never alone! They just know when you are feeling down and will come to purr on you and cheer you up. There is nothing better than coming home from a long day at work - potentially feeling down or grumpy - and being greeted by a purring and headbutting cat to make your day. :)

Who is your favourite internet cat celebrity?
Maru! He is just too adorable and also if you take the first letters of my two first and 2 last names it forms his name :D (Yes I often get called by that nickname at work LOL)

Any tips you would give to first-time cat owners?
Make sure that you have plenty of toys around the house. Especially if you have a sofa etc that you don't want them to scratch. I would also suggest to get a water fountain! Many pet shops will try to sell you bowls but a lot of cats don't like still water so go for the fountain. :)

And of course most importantly have plenty of time for cuddles.

What do you love the most about your cat companion?

"Oliver"

Oliver is cute and cuddly and will always roll around on the sofa, bed or me and purr away. He does however have his mischievious moments and that's why he received the title Maker of Mischief!

"Nubia"

Nubia on the other hand is very very noisy, but that's exactly why I love her so much! No need for an alarm clock because she knows exactly at what point I have to go to work (or give her breakfast I should say ;) ) And hence her title as the Disturber of Peace LOL!

"Snowball"

Snowball is crazily adventerous and gets up to all kind of trouble. Despite him being a mean boss cat to neighbour cats he is super soft and cuddly with Yuki and her family.

"Mao"
When him and Mao go outdoors he will look after her and be her protective warrior cat. Mao on the other hand is super chubby and fluffy and amazing for cuddles. Indoors she keeps Snowball in check and will glare at him if he is up to no good ;) Both of Yuki's cats have learned how to open doors and unfortunately Snowball even knows how to lockpick windows but hey this is exactly why Yuki loves them so much LOL

Marc it was a complete pleasure meeting you and getting to know your feline furmily!!!!!

I am loving reading your blog and I am sure that your new furiends here will love reading it as well!

Thank you for taking the time to be interviewed!
