Happy Birthday To YOU Dr.Seuss! Share Your “SHELFIE!” #ReadAcrossAmerica

A version of this  post first appeared on our blog on March 2nd, 2013....each year I repeat the majority of it but I ALWAYS make slight revisions so read on! It's our Dr.Seuss and   Read Across America Day!  tradition!!

Today is the day,
it's truer than true,
today is the day
we tell Dr.Seuss
"WE LOVE YOU!"
We GRATEFULLY
THANK GLOGIRLY DESIGN
FOR DESIGNING OUR GRAPHIC!
YOU CAN HAVE ONE TOO BY CLICKING
 HERE

Mom first discovered Dr.Seuss
as a child of age 4,
When she would "read"
she would shout
"I want MORE!"

March 2, 1904
is a date to be remembered
evermore!

Write it on your wall!
It is  the birthday
of probably the most
popular children's book author of all!
courtesy of cracked.com

He wrote Mom's faves,
oh how she  LOVES those green eggs!

Mom's first long word,
that she ever read,
it was in one of Seuss's books
and at age 6,
 Mom figured it out
just by using her head!

It is only appropriate on this
most special day,
that we wish
Dr. Seuss the
 HAPPIEST

of BIRTHDAYS!!

NEW FOR 2018!!!!

"This year, on Read Across America Day (March 2nd), we are calling upon our educators and supporters to share which childhood book meant the most to them. To participate, simply take a picture with the book of your choice and post your “shelfie” on a public social media platform. When you post your photo using #Shelfie and #ReadAcrossAmerica we’ll share your creative submission on our social channels and feature it on our website."

  1. Few authors are as fun to read as Dr. Seuss! I still enjoy reading his work - though I learned a long time ago that trying to read him out-loud would twist my tongue hopelessly and helplessly.
ps - Happy belated birthday, Dakota!
