National CAT Day AND National Cat DADDY Day!!

Hi everyone!! As you can clearly see, it's me, Roary.

I look pretty serious, don't I?

Well, I look serious because today there are TWO super special days tied into one!!!

Today is National Cat Day AND National Cat Daddy Day!!

Ok, I know, EVERYDAY is National Cat Day, but let's just humor the rest of the world by honoring this day anyway.

National Cat Day is celebrated on October 29 every year! It was created by Colleen Paige to bring awareness to the number of cats that need to be rescued each year. In my opinion the number of cats that need to be rescued should be brought to everyone's attention EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR, but they don't listen to me!

Thank you Ann of Zoolatry
for this great badge!

HAPPY NATIONAL CAT DADDY DAY DAD!!!

YOU ARE THE BEST!!

In my world it is only right that I celebrate BOTH days together! You see, Mom is the one who actually saw my adorable face online on Petfinder, but it was DAD who drove quite far away to a Petsmart that wasn't anywhere near our home at ALL to meet me FIRST. HUGE MISTAKE MOM!! (You see, Mom wimped out because she was afraid, she thought I wouldn't like her or Dad, so she sent Dad to check me out.). Well, the second Dad approached my cage I KNEW that HE was the one for me! I reached my paw out to him, looked even CUTER than I already am and that was IT!!  The next day Dad brought wimpy Mom out to meet me, I was adopted, and the REST IS HISTORY!!

DAD IS MY GUY!!

The second The Giant Sheltie retires for the night in his crate, I appear in the living room. I head straight over to WHEREVER Dad is sitting so I can snuggle with him. Dad doesn't feed me most of my meals and he doesn't scoop my litter much, (Mom does that, as she SHOULD), but I STILL LOVE MY DAD!!!

IT'S DAD WHO SEALED THE DEAL

ON MY ADOPTION BY MEETING ME FIRST!!

I keep trying to find ways to get rid of Mom and the Giant Sheltie, I bring tiny toys out strategically hoping the Giant Sheltie will eat them and will be gone, but Mom always intercepts them before he even sees them!

I MUST COME UP WITH A NEW PLAN!!!

Any ideas? Leave me a comment and tell me!!

Love, Roary

(PEEEESSSSSS: Mom uses comment moderation on the blog, so if you don't see your comment right away don't worry! Mom is out watching the Lions lose on Sunday and will approve comments later today or tomorrow!!! Thank you!!)

To the most PAWESOME Dad! #FathersDay

Hi all!!! Today is a most special day! It's Father's Day!!!

First, I would like to share a photo with you that portrays an event that takes place EVERY night at "Casa de Cody." At approximately 5pm (or a little earlier, depending on how long, how loudly and how much I whine), my Dad performs a ritual.

Dad calls Dakota and I into the living room like this: "Gentleman! Come in for the announcement!" As you can see by the photo below we are on high alert! My tail is even raised with glee!

Then, once Dad has our full attention, he will say "Dakota, do YOU want dinner? Cody join us in the dining room!!" Ok, yeah, I know he asks Dakota, but that is the routine and it DOES mean that I get fed too! The video below is OLD (I apologize for the awful quality!) It was taken in 2012 or 2013 (Mom is too lazy to go back to YouTube to check) The video skips the "gentlemen" part, but you will get the idea!!

I love my Dad for many reasons but mostly because even when I jump on his head and face beginning at approximately 3am, he NEVER gets upset. My Dad feeds me every morning, he makes the announcement at night and he also pets me and cuddles me. My Dad is the BEST ever and I am grateful to have him!

The photo I am sharing below is one of my all time faves. I was a tiny little kitten, so young that my eyes were amber and hadn't changed to the glorious green that they are today. I just love this photo though because it shows how my love affair with Dad started right from the time I was first adopted!

Happy Father's Day to the BEST DAD EVER!!!! Now, gimme some food!!

Love, Cody

I think I found the above
on Pinterest some time ago

We also would like to wish all Kitty Dads, Doggy Dads, Uncles, Brothers, Grandfathers, anyone who has taken on the role of "Dad" (even WOMEN who have to take on the role of "Dad" !) a Happy Happy Father's Day!!!

Father's Day, Garfield The Cat Day, International Box Day?...YOU Decide!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
TO THE BEST
"CAT DADDY" EVER!!!
LOVE FROM CODY!!!!

PS: Happy Garfield The Cat Day too!!!!

PSS:Thank you to Lexy
from Lola The Rescued Cat
and CK (Stunning Keisha)
for posting on their blog
that indeed, the day DOES exist,
but it is a Blogosphere created holiday,
which explains why it isn't listed online
other than last year when the CATalyst Council created it,
and it was assigned the date of JUNE 19TH.
Mom is such a stickler about details/facts...
comes from her newspaper background
of having to verify EVERYTHING!
SHEESH!!!

Happy Father's Day 2013!

Today is a special day! It's Father's Day!!! For all of you great "Cat Daddies" out there, I hope your day is extra special!!

I love my Dad and wanted to share my most favorite photo of us, it was taken when I was just a little guy! Aren't we just too cute together?

Then, I was pussy-footing around YouTube and found this hilarious video. My Mom was too leery cheap to have one made for me, so I will have to let this kitty send MY Father's Day wishes to my Dad. It may not be me singing, but the sentiment is sure the SAME!

So, even if you can't pill me, I love you Dad just the same!!
Happy Father's Day to YOU and to all of the humans out there who view themselves as "Cat Daddies", have a CATABULOUS DAY!

Love,
Cody

Lovin' on Daddy

Daddy is feeling much better now! He had his bandages removed 2 days ago. He is still supposed to not lift anything heavy and he is supposed to take it easy. His stitches will be taken out next week! I am giving him kisses to show him how much I love him!
