It's Adopt A Shelter Cat Month: Share a Photo of your Kitty BFF to Win! #AdoptYourBFF

Hi all! It's Cody and as many of you know, I was adopted. I did not live in a shelter, I had a foster Mom, but I was adopted just the same!

Mom and I love helping to spread the word about June being Adopt A Shelter Cat Month and when our dear friends at the ASPCA contacted us asking if we would help spread the word about their latest contest, we said OF COURSE!!

The ASPCA as teamed up with Fifth Harmony star Ally Brooke, to help spread the word that in the month of June the shelters are usually bursting with kitties and we all want to see them be adopted!

Cats have always been a huge part of my life. My cats love me in the most beautiful and unconditional way, and now I want to return the favor by encouraging everyone I know to take part in Adopt a Shelter Cat Month. My cat, Bobbi, was my very best friend. Please consider opening up your heart and home to a shelter cat in need. Your new BFF could be waiting for you right----Ally Brooke

You can help them out! Snap a photo of your favorite rescued cat (they would love to see you in the pic, too!) and share it on Twitter or Instagram tagging the @ASPCA and using the hashtag #AdoptYourBFF. They want to get as many people as possible sharing how great their kitty BFF is with the world to encourage others to adopt. As a bonus, they will choose their most favorite photo post to win a special prize pack, including a gift card from francesca’s and an ASPCA T-shirt autographed by Ally Brooke! P.S. if you live in L.A., the ASPCA is urgently looking for kitten fosters – please visit ASPCA.org/FosterLA to sign up. Good luck!!

  1. My human wishes she could foster some kittens - she would probably wind up putting them in cat shows as Household Pet Kittens if she still had them when they were four months old! But she doesn't have the right space right now for that.

  2. Awww...the video lift us up, so sweet. Granny would love to adopt too, but with me around, she thinks its better not to. Good Luck Pawkisses to find a furrever home soon for all the animals who are waiting <3 <3 <3

  3. Our cats were shelter cats, and actually all Mom's cats have been from a shelter or rescue. This is a nice idea from the ASPCA.

  5. I've loved cats all my life, but I'm so allergic. My husband refuses to have any more babies after our loss of Little Bit. He is still in such pain.

Have a purrfect day, Cody. My best to your mom and Dakota. ♥♥♥

  7. Would you believe it? None of my cats are "adopted" in the traditional sense. They were all strays who found us - so they were adopted from the street. But we obviously know the importance of shelter adoption and hope that everyone will consider it! And that video is too adorable!

  8. Those shelter cats are so important and need all the help they can get to find homes. None of mine are shelter cats, but they were just rescued as they wandered in. Hope more shelter cats find home.

  9. We lve it! Most of us came from a shelter and some came even before going there! Adopt cats, we deserve it!!! More Forever Homes More Often!

  10. Such a wonderful thing. We wish there was no need for rescues and shelters, but until that day comes, we're thankful for those who take in dogs and cats and give them food and shelter until their forever home can be found.

  11. I was a shelter cat, though part of the time I actually stayed at the veterinarian office where I was neutered. I had a cold and they wanted to keep me until I was better. I'll see if the mom will share a photo of me and her. ~Ernie

  12. We're shelter kitties! We'd love to see all kitties and woofies have furever homes so we hope this helps get more adopted!

  14. Shelter cats are the best! They repay the people who rescue them with so much love. Even though I've been volunteering at PAWS for 15 years, Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red weren't at the shelter. I fostered them for PAWS and ended up adopting them.

  15. If we will have more kitties here in this den...they for sure will be from a shelter...unless of course someone chooses us instead of the outdoors:)
