I'm "Making the Switch to Nutrish!!" #nutrishforcats

Hi every furry! It's Cody!

Lately I have had  a lot on my mind, and today I would like to share it with you!

Every so often I get nasty red, hot spots on my head and they itch! For the past few years my Mom and I were under the mistaken assumption that I had food allergies. What that meant was I was on the MOST BORING diet ever! It never changed, I would often wish that a magic kitty would bring me delectable food in an array of flavors, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. I would read about all of my kitty furiends eating a bountiful buffet of deliciousness, while I sat...with nothing.

Then something meowvelous happened!!! My luck had changed! "Dr.Smiley" told Mom that he thought that my allergies were caused by something in my environment, (yeah probably my woofie brother) and WERE NOT FOOD ALLERGIES!!! It was a miracle!! I was FREE AT LAST!!!!!

Mom jumped into action and began weaning me off of my boring food, and on to another brand. No hot spots!! YES!! I could eat anything!! That made me start thinking even more:

I often watched my woofie brother, Dakota, eating dog food made by Rachael Ray Nutrish.  (Dakota has been eating Nutrish since it first arrived on the scene in 2008, LONG before he ever had a blog!) For the past year, I had to endure the agony of watching him do his Sheltie prance around the house, proud that he was (and still IS), one of a number of "Ambassadogs" for Nutrish. In that time, I often wondered, I wondered, so often in fact, that I would MEOW OUT.....

It really upset me. I knew that working with a team of pet nutrition experts, Rachael Ray created Nutrish Super Premium Food and Treats for dogs.  BUT WHAT ABOUT CATS????
I KNEW that her food was made with simple, wholesome ingredients like real meat. I even knew, cause I am SMART LIKE THAT, that Nutrish foods were inspired by tasty recipes from Rachael's kitchen. I knew that Nutrish contains no by-products, fillers or junk ingredients, Plus, Rachael's proceeds help animals in need!
Rachael's Rescue was created for all of the forgotten pets-the ones that might not have someone who loves them as much as your humans love YOU! Did you know that proceeds from sales of Nutrish have gone toward food, medical supplies and treatments for animals in need? Rachael Ray wants to help ALL of the animals! Many more shelters need help.  Did you know that Rachael's Rescue has donated more than $6 million to pets in need? That's NO SMALL KIBBLE!!!
BE STILL MY HEART!!!!
Good things DO come
to KITTIES WHO WAIT!!!
I AM PROUD TO ANNOUNCE
I can barely contain my excitement!! If I were any more excited I would be spinning and barking like some woofie who will remain unmentioned! I am more refined than that, but let me tell you, MY MOM AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!!

  7. I'm happy to hear you can finally eat "real food" again, Cody. Allergies are so tough to diagnose, it's not surprising that it turned out to be something different than what your vet first thought. I hope in time, your mom can find something that helps with the environmental allergies as well, but at least you'll be eating well while you wait for that cure! :-)

  8. Fun post. I'll have to try this for my group. Our dog has environmental allergies which we do control but he is happy to be able to eat many different foods. And our kitties, all but Lily, have a variety of tasty morsels to eat. Thanks for sharing your good news. Deb

  9. We'll be looking for that food, Cody. Y'know, the vet thought I had food allergies too, but we figured out awhile ago that my allergies were probably caused by the environment too.

    Enjoy your Nutrish!

  16. Cocatulations Cody on being able to eat nommy food again! That's pawsome.

I have a question. You said it has no grain, but it has brown rice. Is brown rice ok for kitties that are going grain free? We had to go grain free cuz Candy gets yucky tummy from grain. Makes for a furry stinky litter box, too.

    1. I'm not a Nutrition expert but I was just reading around to answer your question and corn and rice for humans as well as pets are NOT considered to be "classic" grains: " However, I also want to make sure to clarify that corn is not really considered a grain and is fully allowed on a human celiac diet, as is rice — wheat is the big no-no, as other people who are gluten (grain) intolerant will confirm."

  18. Seems to be a great news for you Cody !
Eating boring food is ....really boring! Your new one sound really interesting.
I had bad allergy .. no food allergy …lucky me !
Nat à Chat gave me “homeopathie” for that (Poumon histamine), with very good results.
I am allergic to very small bugs that you find here, from August to January, outside, in the grass.

    1. Oh my goodness Hisia, I never heard of being allergic to small bugs! I wonder what kind they are? Are you taking a spray? (Poumon histamine) sounds like a spray. Hope you don't get the awful red hot spots like I do! Love, Cody

  25. I am just thrilled for you, Cody. You do deserve a spotlight on you - it will be worth the wait, I am sure. The three cats in our house now are all eating the brand of food Russell brought with him. I hope it isn't because they think they will get as big as him!
Anyway, that fateful day I ran out of cat food and had to wait for the sun to rise to walk to the grocery, I leaned they would refuse and other food but "Russell food". I might see if they will send me a sample. I know enough about their reputation to want to give it a try.

  36. We’re been seeing it in our ShopRite for weeks. TW bought me a can and I licked all the gravy. She says it’s too expensive at .99 a can so it’s gonna be a long time until I see it again. I don’t know what papers the cupon will be in but we liberated the coupon sections in our neighbors’ NY Times and Wall Street Journal and it wasn’t in Smart Source or Red Plum circulars. I hope they actually deliver our Sunday News tomorrow.

    1. Hi CK! .99 /can to me is great (I was paying $1.69 a can for non prescription food).....and prescription food is even higher. I just checked my paper as well it isn't in there. I am wondering if it ran in ROP????? I am going to email "Mission Control" and find out! Thanks!

      Delete
    2. CK Hi! Just heard from "Mission Control" in response to my question about the coupons. She said it is in the "Smart Source" coupon grouping. Wasn't in mine either. I am wondering if it was regional and some areas didn't get it. Also, when I used to work at the paper, the guys who put the inserts in often stole coupons (sorry to say), so I am wondering if that could have happened.
