August 9 through 11, the store will stay open for 48 hours straight for The Cat’s Pajamas 200-cat adoption marathon taking place from 4 p.m., Friday, August 9 to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 11.  Families can choose from 200 cats and kittens of all shapes and sizes available for adoption from Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center in Auburn Hills.
Adoption counselors will be on hand all 48 hours with the goal of finding homes for as many pets as possible.  Adoption fee of
$60 includes spay/neuter, health checks and vaccinations.

All adopters get a free feline wellness exam courtesy of Ross Hospital for Animals in Bloomfield Hills and a chance to win a Pandora bracelet or Pandora lucky cat charm from Karagosian Master Jewelers in Sylvan Lake.

Shoppers wearing their jammies during Midnight Madness – from midnight to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights, will get 20 percent off their purchases (non-sale items).  In addition, the store will pay their sales tax and they will be treated to free donuts.

“Oakland County has so many homeless pets so we are just trying to do our part to find them good homes,” said Addy Shattuck, owner of Pet Supplies Plus in Bloomfield Hills.  “We are pleased to be working with Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center, and invite families to consider a new feline family member.  We will have a huge selection of just about every type of cat imaginable.”

New executive director of Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center, Bob Gatt, will join the event.  (We’re not sure if he will be wearing his PJs!)  Shoppers can also see Kitty City, the area’s first open environment catadoption center opened by the Bloomfield Hills Pet Supplies Plus in 2011.

Pet Supplies Plus in Bloomfield Hills is at 2057 Telegraph, north of Square Lake Rd.  Event sponsors are Ross Hospital for Animals, Karagosian Master Jewelers and NOOTERS Club® which sells apparel promoting pet spay and neuter.

  14. Sounds like a great event...especially for an animal control agency to partner in....so many times they get so little help and funding and usually take a lot of grief for not doing more. Scooter is SO CUTE! I hope lots of cats find their forever homes!!!

    1. you are welcome!! Wish I could be there but I can't. Dakota is having some "pee" issues. He is going to the vet early tomorrow morning. Cody's allergies started a bit yesterday but I got to them right away with coconut oil and it seems to be holding the main flare-up at bay!
I am baby-sitting the boys tonight while Dad attends the Lions first pre-season game! Pulling for lots of kitties to be adopted!

  22. Oh my gosh, how cute! Fingers and paws crossed for adoptions!

About the coconut oil: Yup, I put some on Star's bad spots and give her some to eat too. So glad she loves the taste! Of course, she will llck off what I put on her back too, lol, silly girl, but it does her good while it's there. I just have to remember to give it to her every day when she has her allergy outbreaks!
