  3. A great reminder to keep an eye on our cats as the temps climb.
We have a spay/neuter event next week and a big part of my day will be making sure the kitties stay cool as the outside temperature will be near 100 degrees.

  4. This information is very important! Our weather is constantly hot and humid and it makes Mommy super mad when she sees silly humans put shoes on dogs and make them walk in the heat and the poor dog is panting so hard.

  5. Super important information. Thanks for sharing it. This past weekend, our head peep helped rescue a cat who had been living outside some restaurants who was starting to show heatstroke signs. It can happen really easily on hot summer afternoons.
(The kitty didn't come home to live with us. She is with a waitress from one of the restaurants.)

  11. wonderful advice. we always kept a eye on all family members when the heat was soaring. our kitties must of been smart as they always headed for the spot behind the toilet ;) sometimes it even dripped on them, LOL. our last fur-baby also loved to lay in the sink all.the.time! so she was a cool cat :) she also wanted the water to drip on her, so she could take a drink when ever she wanted.

  12. Great post with important information thanks sweet Cody. We have had only one experience with this. We found a cat closed up in a car once. When we found her the look on her face was just like the one on the cat's face in this picture and I was afraid she would not recover it was very scary. I cooled the cat off by setting her feet in water and slowly dripping water from my hand on her head and body luckily she survived. Hugs and nose kisses

  13. Hi Cody! It's important to realise that even cats (who I am sure are generally part lizard) can get too hot.

  17. A little late for me, as the heat is gone, but good to know, and symptoms to watch out for. We never got heatstroke.

  22. Another tip: don't ever take your cat with you in the car when it's hot outside. Avalon almost got a heat stroke in a car a few years ago. The poor baby could hardly breath anymore. You can cool the cat by regularly wiping him with a cold humid towel or something similar. This really helps to prevent a heat stroke.

  23. That is such important information. Thank you for sharing it, because EVERY cat owner should know this stuff.

  24. The mom worries about that when she hefts us into the car every August for our annual checkups. Now she'll know what to look for!

  25. EXCELLENT infographic - very important!

  26. The cats in the old house were close to heat stroke. Gramma didn't believe in AC and she used to call TW that Autumn was panting and TW used to have to go over and bring Autumn to her place with AC.

  27. Oh my. I think my two pampered pets are safe from the heat though.

  28. This is so important to know and share with others. Sometimes we overlooked the signs and this could be fatal. Thank you for sharing it.
