#Follow me, where I go, what I do and who I know, take my paw and I will follow YOU!

Hi everyone it's Cody! We  were reading Glogirly's post this morning and realized that we hadn't mentioned a WORD about the demise of Google Reader.

Mom and I follow the majority of the blogs that we read via email, but we did take Glogirly's advice this morning and just transferred 468 BLOGS (yes, you read that correctly!) over to Bloglovin's reader to make sure that we haven't missed anyone.

For those of you who follow us via Google Reader and don't want to miss a new post, you can follow us a few different ways!

We have a follow by email button that has been on our sidebar for furever!>>>>>>>>>

You can follow us with Bloglovin:
by clicking on the link below

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Or...on the Bloglovin button that is on  our sidebar!

And we are on Google+ (Stay tuned because we hear that a NEW way to follow blogs with Google will be making it's debut soon!

We don't want to lose you so please:

Thanks again to Glogirly for your descriptive and helpful post this morning!

Love, Cody

  1. We'll continue to follow you, Cody! Though the mom tried Bloglovin and just doesn't like it...it doesn't offer a lot of the features that Google Reader did...so we'll be using Feedly...at least for now.

    2. you aren't an idiot!!! Are you still on Blogger? I can't remember if you are. I added it directly from the Bloglovin' site. You have to do a blog post first using their code in the text of your blog so that you can claim the blog as yours. Then I went to the badges and clicked on add to the blog and they actually put it in for me. I just had to move it up. See where I have the blog lovin' text in the body of the blog? I had to do that so it recognized it when I went to claim the blog. You have to have a live blog post with the code in the blog.

    3. yep I just checked and you are still on Blogger. Click on "claim your blog" and they tell you what you have to do first. That would be the blog post with the bloglovin' code in the text. Then they give you the option of having the badge.

  12. We've been trying out a couple of different readers - Newsblur and Feedly. Newsblur imports OPML, but only once. If you have to import a couple of different lists, each new one overwrites the old one. They're slow to update, too.

Feedly will import your feedburner or Reader list, but doesn't import OPML so I can't get my Newsblur list over to Feedly without importing them one at a time. But feedly is clean and easy to use and updates quickly.

After you've used Bloglovin' for a while, can you please write a review of it? Thanks.

    1. don't hold your breath! lol. The reason I probably will NOT write a review is because I follow the majority of the blogs that I read on a regular basis via email. I will pop into the reader every now and then but I had stopped using Google Reader and followed via email quite some time ago. I may write one if I lose a bunch of followers though...lol....not sure yet!

  14. No worries here Cody - I have been using feedly for quite awhile now and you are still there. I think I may need to add a Bloglovin' button as well though because it seems to be a popular way for people to follow. I've heard the same thing about following blogs with G+. Still waiting though!

  15. Cody we subscribed or I should say we imported our GR over to both feedly and bloglovin. We're now trying out BL and we're most definitely following you!

  16. I'll keep reading your bloggy whatever happens Cody! If I don't comment, doesn't mean I haven't checked it out! I think I follow you through blogger.

  20. We're like you Cody...we follow a bunch by email (including you) but we did the transfer and it imported 388 blogs! Holy CAT!!! ...ok, there's a few dogs in there too.

We're trying to figure out Feedly too, but so far we're having trouble finding our own Glogirly feed.
All this techie stuff is going to require some naps.

    2. Glogirly, I just checked, and I was able to find your feed on Feedly:

      - At the top left of the gray bar, next to "My Feedly", click the "+Add Content" button. A field and list of categories displays.
      - Paste the URL (web address) of the blog you want to add into the "enter url, title or #topic" field. After a few seconds, the list of categories is replaced by search results. You should see the name of the blog you wanted to follow displayed in the search results.
      - Click the blog name in the search results. The main pane of the window displays content from the blog so you can verify it's the right one.
      - Next to the blog's name in the main pane of the window, click the "+add to my feedly" button. The Add a New Source pane displays on the left.
      - If you have categories set up for your blogs, you can select a category for the blog, and then click the Add button at the bottom of the pane. The blog is now added to Feedly.

We hope this helps. We are sticking with Feedly for now because other third-party apps that previously used Google Reader are starting to use it, too, and they make it easier for our head peep to read blogs on the go, especially from her old iPad, which crashes on a lot of newer apps.

  21. We are using Feedly too - I tried claiming my blog with Bloglovin' but it only shows my diary category and I am very concerned my pals there will miss some of my best posts! I've contacted them about this issue.

  24. I believe you're in my Bloglovin'. When I first imported the list, for some reason, a lot of the WordPress sites didn't come. I never used Google Reader. I just use the list of blogs on my sidebar and any new ones who comment on mine. Now I'm trying Bloglovin'. Did you know if you follow blogs by email, it doesn't count in their stats? It's convenient but screws up my numbers. MOL!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nope I didn't know that. But it DOES count for views on the blog. (page views) People still have to open the blog to read them.

  27. We are so last-century that we just have all our blogs we like on a list in our bookmarks and we click on them. It takes a long time, but at least the Human knows how to do it, and nuffing ever goes away!! There's something to be said for primitivism, ha ha meow!

  30. I never used Google reader, so don't know what I'm missing! I've always just subscribed to blogs I like by email. But my inbox is pretty full sometimes. So perhaps I should look into Bloglovin? Oh my, I can't believe you follow almost 500 blogs! I find it so hard to keep up with all my reading, and I know I'm not even close to that! :)

  31. We've always followed efurrybuddy by e-mail 'cause we didn't know any better when we started blogging. Seems now like that was a good idea. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
